tl;dr this game doesn't work on modern systems, and is not worth buying unless you're willing to put in a lot of effort to make it run (if it's even possible). Even though Paradox should be ashamed for selling a product that doesn't work, the game itself is extremely fun albeit flawed. I actually enjoy the game itself, and have hundreds of in-game hours logged across other accounts. It's not everyone's cup of tea understandably - by default the game literally automates half the mechanics, there is a lot of emphasis around micromanaging your OOB, it's unbalanced, and extremely difficult to survive as a minor nation, frankly the representation of geopolitics isn't very good either. The biggest problem though, particularly for 'modern' (Hoi4) players is the railroading. WW2 is scripted to happen whether you like it or not. While you can do things such as invading Canada as the USA, the problem is it takes a ton of effort and the normal WW2 triggers still occur. For extra 'flavour', you get different start dates, or "scenarios". In spite of its glaring flaws, I still find it to be very charming. Despite the political mechanics being shallow at best, it is an extremely engaging, fun w…2 found this helpful
I simply cannot recommend ANY Paradox game. with their current business model of screwing the player while trying to milk as much money as possible.1 found this helpful
not recommending, for me it stayyed stuck at dowload in the middle for an hour and decided to refund. bad game!1 found this helpful
Capitulated Poland -> Game crashed 10/10 would play again
for some reason the game starts lagging after the start of ww2 and only a few months in the game becomes unplayable most likely due to my pc low specs if you have a low specs pc you should think about that
One of my favourite games ever but it has not worked in years. There are no updates and it won't run on a modern system.
