MiniOne Racing

MiniOne Racing is an ancient game from 2008. It's a whopping 15 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions, hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. It's a mediocre mini-car/toy car racing game with some powerups and a little vehicle combat thrown in, which would be ok if the execution was tolerable, but it's not. Apart from the absolutely terrible top-down-ish camera angles, there's a graphical glitch that makes textures pop and appear distorted... it's distracting enough that the game isn't properly playable. The developer knows about this but chooses not to fix it, yet, unethically, continues to try to scam gamers into buying a knowingly broken game. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. A take on micromachines - a tedious kart racer from a weird camera angle. Tab changes camera mode, but they're all weird. Only if it's 2008 and you're 3 years old. Still, wouldn't a kid prefer something cool instead?
