About Princess Evangile W Happiness - Steam Edition

It's a new Princess Evangile, with nine new love stories!

This time around, you can finally date all nine heroines: the original four heroines in their "epilogues," and the five sub-heroines in their "another story" routes!

For those of you who haven't played the main story, the common route (chapters 1-13) of the original "Princess Evangile" is also included for your viewing pleasure!

Through a strange series of events, Okonogi Masaya enrolls at "Vincennes Private Girls' Academy" as a sample student. As the only man at this all girl's school, he runs into one obstacle after another. Will the protagonist be accepted by the pure, high-class maidens of Vincennes--the Filles de la Vincennes?!

I put the patch in and it somehow became a demo. I am never buying a game that needs to be patched from Steam again!

This game may be getting a bit old, but it is still a great vn. I bought this game first, and didn't really appreciate it until I bought the original and played it right through, then this game really came into it's own. All the stories are great, and each have a heartwarming ending. What more can you ask for.

WARNING! THIS IS NOT AN EXPANDED VERSION, IT'S A FANDISC! (people get confused, because the naming is misleading) Yes, it does include the common route, but this is only for refreshing memory. Does NOT include the main routes for main heroines, only after routes for mains and extra routes for additional characters. To know the FULL story you must get "Princess Evangile" as well, but keep in mind that Steam has only All Ages version (SFW) and there's no patch. If you want the spicy version, go to MangaGamer site (sorry Steam, you brought this on yourself).

I sat on reviewing this for a very long time, but I'm feeling in the mood to do so now. This 'update' is an insult. *Spoilers ahead* While the little epilogues for the four girls from the base VN are poignant and even touching in certain cases, that's hardly the point of the expansion and giving us a sprinkling of extra content for already complete routes should not be celebrated. The meat of the additional cost should have been in the additional girls we were allowed to woo in the update... and they're all terrible in comparison. Short, abrupt, and in several cases nonsensical. I'll highlight my case with Ruriko, whom I attempted to romance first in the base game without knowing she wasn't an option. (Brilliant idea making two main character's names so similar.) She's on your side through the entire base game, never loses faith in you, supports the efforts of the rest of the cast even if she can't have you. And yet like in every single other 'expanded' option, you are dropped on your butt with a "you failed" the final arc of the normal story. All of the additional routes have you fail the final arc, which I would have understood in certain cases (calling out the blatantly pedop…

(I have a lot more hours on the main game which I own in another exe format, not on steam) This visual novel is quite lazy in its character designs (All girls share the same face with the only variation being eyes, body and hair, and there are lots of disembodied voices). The romance is stale, generic, lackluster, or even boring. Same goes for some of the dialogue. Thats about the extent of criticism. The story and writing are quite compelling for the genre, with each of the routes having some decently written drama and satisfying conclusions. One of the central themes is moving on from the past to a brighter future, and all the characters and routes deal with this in some way, coming to terms with their past and living in the moment to shape a better tomorrow. The game handles well for a visual novel and is very intuitive. With happiness is a solid expansion with good add-on routes, the writing is on par with the base game and even exceeds it in a lot of cases, and it has many hours of content. The music, background art, UI and voice acting are top notch. Imo the music is iconic. Easy recommendation for those inclined/ partial to visual novels.
