This game is a really nice surprise, it brings me back to the era when a single developer could do one game full of small quirks and interesting details. I haven't felt something like that in a very long time! The graphics remind me of the early DOS games (which only adds to its charm), and although it is a bit rough around the edges it is nice and almost peaceful to play. Definitely worth a try if you like space games.6 found this helpful
Writing is terrible. Gameplay is fun.4 found this helpful
Space Waver is a somewhat story based 2D retro pixel ripoff of SpaceWar! (the oscilliscope game from 1962) where you fly a spaceship around with some slightly Newtonian physics and blast stuff, or you would if the game controls permitted you to start the game. I couldn't work out how to make it select any of the menu options (you're supposed to park your ship on them and it works, but it seems to be bugged... software testing is NOT optional, devs must learn to test their junk software before dumping it on Steam). There's also a mild "comic" theme as little speech bubbles and things pop up everywhere. A matter of taste, I guess, but the implementation of that gimmick here doesn't work well with the rest of the game concept. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics setting…3 found this helpful
an awesomely crafted bunch of bits, a peculiar love infused arcade game way worth double, triple of asked price. the little i've played, four years ago, is still stickied somewhere, on my mind. dev is truly great, and has also crafted: https://store.steampowered.com/app/877040/Samurai_Wish/ and one of my favorite games (this is where dev really shines, imo), The stupendous https://store.steampowered.com/app/1038850/Boom_Boom/ would be nice, very nice, to see you back, Grégory Joerger!2 found this helpful

Charming game with some rough edges and a number of fresh ideas.
