Squeakers is a 2D retro pixel game with a fairly unusual premise. The world is flooding, and you, as a 2D retro pixel boar (and your friend, local co-op is strongly encouraged here) must use your cement mixers to build blocks and place them on top of each other to stay over the rising flood waters... but it's not as easy as you think because the game physics are terrible and the controls are a bit clunky. With practice you can get the hang of them, but the lack of polish is just the start of the unfortunate drawbacks of this sincere and well intentioned game. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. Steam Gem! Rarely do you find a good multiplayer game for such a good price. Squeakers is about building higher and higher as the world floods beneath you, using different blocks with different materials. As the game progresses new blocks and difficulties arise, so it truly can be played for a long time! With up to three more friends this got a couch party classic for us immediately!

Never before have I more desperately yearned for the absolute annihilation of my friends who I played this game with, the developer(s) who created it, and myself. This game made me hate the world and everything in it. An experience I certainly won't forget. Worth all 99 pennies.

i bought squeakers 1 & 2 just to spend the last 5 bucks i had and ended up actually liking the games
