Straight Up Poker (SE) is a really great poker game. There aren't many on poker games on steam, which kinda sucks for those looking for a chill singleplayer poker experience, however straight up poker is really good at delivering on this kind of product. Anyone looking for a "boot up and play some poker without worrying about how much money you're spending" experience or practice tool, should get this game. However, it is worth remembering it's in early access (as of 18/10/2024) and so there are so things that I'd like to see added or improved, but the developer is incredibly active and responsive, so it's easy to have a conversation about features or ideas. Pros: Clean, but simple, UI. Many different poker game types. Career mode. Tournaments with multiple tables. Highly customisable. Advisor, pot odds, chip graphs, timescale adjuster and hand/odd calculators (although hand/odd calculators currently can't be used by themselves, you have to be viewing a replay). Cons: Price - I must admit, the price is pretty high for something that feels quite straight forward and simple, but I do personally think it's worth it for the quality of what is currently in the game. i bought this pre-release,I play a lot of poker. By far my favorite offline Poker Simulator. A pure poker simulator. UPDATE (1 year later): This poker simulator is a true masterpiece and the most raw, authentic poker experience I’ve ever come across poker simulatorwise. There’s simply nothing else that compares. Most other software and games are built around entertainment and habit forming mechanics, but this stands apart as pure poker, focused entirely on the game itself. It’s especially valuable for players who want to train seriously on their own. The algorithms are highly sophisticated and do an excellent job of simulating real uncertainty, making it ideal for solo practice. If you’re working with a professional players, pro coaching or actively improving your skills, this is without question the best tool available. I’m genuinely surprised it hasn’t gained more traction. That likely comes down to a lack of marketing. With more visibility, especially among serious players, poker YouTubers, or online forums, it could easily become much more widely recognized. Regardless, this software is exceptional.

Even a super-tight bot will call all-ins with 62o. That should be enough for not going through the TLDR below. I've bought this title because so hugely different from all these other poker trash programs here on Steam. The settings in this program are very ambitious, and I knew beforehand that if only some of all these features - like setting the poker personalities - if only a few of them would work decently to show results in a real game then I would be happy and this title would surpass by far most of the games of poker, being much more than that because a good poker tool is for sure better than any 'game' designed for entertainment. Thus, a very high potential here, but will it keep to this promise? I was very sceptical but let's see... First thing to mention: In the Advisor, the pot odds are partially wrong. I'm playing No Limit Texas Hold'em with blinds 5-10. EP2 raises to 20, the pot is 35, I have to call 20. Adivsor says: I have 36.36% pot odds which is correct, but the next value saying I'm 3.5:1 is terribly wrong (1.75:1 is right, must be a bug). If this error carries over into the Bot coding then it's of no surprise that the bots play so badly (see next.) I'm impresse…

Its obvious after playing a while that these are pre-made hands and not random deals. This is the same as any poker computer game and not worth the money.
