ORIGINAL: This is clearly a nod to Midnight Club and Need for Speed Underground 2. There is one major problem in this game however. The handling is awful. When turning, for the first second, the car feels really good and grips well. If you hold it for longer than that, the car suddenly has terminal understeer. This by itself ruins the high speed racing it's trying to portray. But then there's braking. Sometimes I can't even tell if the car is braking because it does not want to brake at all. So you have the cars understeering, and when you try to correct it by braking, you go diving into a building, ruining any momentum you had. The rest of the game is fine. Sense of speed is great, music choice is solid, graphics are...graphics. Once the handling is tweaked, I'll change my review. EDIT: Handling is much better now. The car still doesn't turn as well as it should while braking but it's an overall massive improvement. EDIT 2: The game plays perfectly now. It's nice to see the devs listening to constructive criticism and fixing issues to make their game enjoyable. Good job.

So, I've completed the game and got platinum. This was really really cool. It's amazing to see that someone still likes old school street racing games and creates a game with this vibe. Firstly, SRK has good and different music, I enjoyed that. Rap, rock, electro, like in old nfs. There are 4 cities in this game and every city has it's own playlist. My favourite is Neoelectric with it's electro tracks. Secondly, the game has a cool style and vibe. I liked all the cities, but Neoelectric and highways in Hood Rock are my favourite places. Gameplay is pretty nice, it's an arcade game and controlling your car feels simple and enjoyable. There are many different events: circuit, drag, sprint, mirror race, time trail and others. I like them all except drift. Races are like in midnight club, you need to pass a checkpoints, but you can choose your own way to pass them, it's really cool. Driving in open world, you can find racers and challenge them. It's cool feature, but I don't have motivation to do it, because I will get only little cash. I also like the progression in this game. You don't have to grind, you just play and get fun. In each city you need to complete some events and then…

Great game, gets you hooked up really fast. Good driving physics, you actually have to brake to negotiate corners, drifting and turning also makes you feel car's weight. Also there are numerous modes like: checkpoint circuit, checkpoint sprint, drift, mirror-racing (2 vs 2 cars in opposite directions), drag, boss battles etc. Multiple different cities, you progress to new cities as you complete events and defeat boss battles etc. Also detailed car customization and tuning, open world to find different shops in different cities etc. Only downside are car models and unlicensed vehicles which is ok for indie racing game like this. 8/10 would recommend to car racing games fans.

I'm amazed that a game revolving around street racing can have worse drifting/handling physics overall than NFS 2015, yet here we are. This game has it somewhat average during the very first half of the game, & yet, during the actual first half, all the way to the very end of the game it's been a very steady decline. Not only do the cars & lights have some questionable design choices that may set them apart from the cars they were based on, (in a bad way), but the "customisation" of the game revolves around the same two bodykits, with extra panelling (you get hoods, scoops, exhausts rims & that's mainly it, no extra bodykits for you). And that brings me to the driving of the game. I've almost never played a game where the car actively fights you when you break into a slide, unable to regain control (especially in the drift events), alongside opponents who are terrible drivers, even at maximum difficulty. You have to actively mess up for them to even stand a chance until Stage 4 (if you've enough perseverance to get through this game that is). Woe be to you if you ever have to do a drifting event in this game, you'll almost immediately see the reason why I can never recommend the …

THE Street Race King!

So far the game is quite fun considering its price point. It clearly takes some inspiration from older racing titles such as Midnight Club, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and I am absolutely all for the variety of content provided at the moment. I would highly recommend getting this at its asking price or onsale. There are some caveats though, but the developer has continuously been updating this game since release and even released patch&content update a week ago as of this review. Here are some of the problems I currently have: - Weather, and this is just for looks, would be nice to have. Maybe occasionally a midnight shower or some fog rolls in. A day and night cycle isn't mandatory, but just some small things as such would go a long way, though I know that would require some optimization to get right. - Tony's Bumps could use some work. The garage for car parts could use maybe a few toolboxes or maybe even a partially disassembled vehicle in the background. There's just a lot of white space. - Land Markers would be incredible to have. At the moment the buildings all look very repetitive and while the variety in lighting is very great, I would really appreciate maybe some fake branding…
