The Games of 2027 — Including the One Everyone Lists That Isn't Coming
Playze Staff · Aug 30, 2026

2027 is the year the delays land in. Almost everything pushed out of 2025 and 2026 now sits in a twelve-month window that already looks overloaded — and a few of the games people confidently list for 2027 are not actually coming in 2027 at all.
Here's what has a real date, what has only a window, and where the internet is quietly wrong.
The dated ones
- 15 January — Ananta. The open-world game formerly known as Project Mugen.
- 12 February — Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Lara's first new outing in years.
- 18 February — Persona 4 Revival. Atlus rebuilding the entry a lot of people still call the best one.
- 23 February — Fable. Moved out of late 2026, which nobody who follows Xbox found surprising.
- 11 March — Road Kings.
- 7 April — Exodus.
Notice the shape of that: four major releases inside six weeks of February and March, and then a long quiet stretch. That is not a schedule anyone designed on purpose. It's what happens when several studios all slip by the same amount.

The ones with a window and no date
Capcom has pointed at 2027 for Resident Evil Code: Veronica without committing to a day. State of Decay 3 is a 2027 game with no date attached. Naughty Dog's Intergalactic, The Wolf Among Us 2 and Final Fantasy VII Revelation all circle the year without landing on it.
Treat all of these as aspirations rather than plans. A game without a date eleven months out is a game that has not finished deciding.

Where the lists are wrong: The Witcher 4
You will see The Witcher 4 on a lot of "biggest games of 2027" rankings. It is worth being precise about what CD Projekt has actually said.
The studio confirmed the game will not arrive before 2027 — which is where most of those lists stopped reading. More recently CDPR's CEO said they are targeting a 2028 window. Both statements are true; only the second one is current. Over 250 developers are on it and the studio has talked about shipping the full trilogy inside six years, but none of that makes it a 2027 release.
If you are planning a year of purchases around it, don't.
The other 2027 question: GTA 6 on PC
GTA 6 launches on consoles on 19 November 2026 with no PC version announced. Rockstar's own history is the only guide anyone has: GTA V reached PC roughly 19 months after its console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 followed the same pattern.
Apply that precedent and you land somewhere in mid-to-late 2027. That is a precedent, not an announcement, and Rockstar has said nothing. But it does mean 2027 could quietly become the biggest year on PC in a decade — for a game that technically launched the year before.
What this means if you're budgeting
Two practical notes. First, February 2027 is going to ask for a lot of money in a very short window; if you want more than one of those four, one of them is a sale purchase, and deciding which now is easier than deciding it at checkout.
Second, everything above is a pre-order you don't have to place today. Pre-orders almost never carry a discount, and the games that slip are the ones you pre-ordered earliest. Put the pages on a price alert instead and let the actual release date come to you.
