About A Week of Circus Terror

DESCRIPTION

As well as an unexplained suicide of his owner in the 50s, the house has woken up after 40 years and the visitor Gerald is determined to solve the whole secret about the disappearance of his son and in the meanwhile he is also trying to find out something about the owner's horrible history and history of the house.
As the night is about to begin, your task is to survive the night and find some informations about your lost son. When the last sun rays disappear, the night will start and the terror will begin.

Genre: Horror, Indie.
Made by Clickteam Fusion 2.5.
This game contains clowns! Also scary sounds, environment or animations (sick jumpscares).

BONUSES

Achievements: There are fifteen game (not Steam) achievements and each of them has different ways to complete it.
Score: If you successfully resist against the one antagonist, you get one score. If you don't resist against the antagonist, you won't get any score for that moment.
Every survived night confirms the score for that night. If you fail, the score for that night resets and you have to play it again.
Also score is seperated to nights from 1 to 10 and to nights from 11 to 13 and this function has nothing to do with the story.

HOW TO PLAY

Use your mouse (left click) for moving to the other rooms of the house. Sometimes (in a situation) you can click on the objects or „something weird“.
For the flashlight press „F“, for turning on the light bulb press and hold „Ctrl“, for using the map press „M“ and for leave the game or go to menu press „Esc“ .
(There is no pause menu).

RESOLUTION, COMPUTER SETTINGS

Better computer means faster moving, faster time passing in nights and transition between rooms or frames.
When you start this game, the game automatically sets to full Screen.
If you want to change the resolution of the game, press ALT + ENTER.

Also this is my first official made game.
I didn't have experiences with creating the game, or even animations.
But, enjoy!

https://youtu.be/YjZdcHl5u5Y Nowhere close to a week's worth of content is provided by this small scope horror game. Lacking clear motivation for the protagonist also muddies the experience.

I think my game was broken? I don't know. I went from screen to screen for a while and nothing happened. I didn't hear anything or get jump scared. Or maybe they were jumpscares but I didn't notice? No idea what I'm supposed to do or why. Very buggy. The game menus are really confusing for me. When I complete a night, it takes me back to the main menu and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do after that. So I go to continue and it starts the first night over again. So I click skip since I completed the first night already and the game calls me a loser for not finding anything. How am I supposed to find things? I clicked on everything in every room and all it let me do was walk around the house! Frustrating. After being called a loser(not offended, it's just a game lol), it moves to a brief voice over of the father telling a little bit more about how he is worried about his son. Not much more story. I wandered around for a bit again and it took me back to the menu saying I had completed the night. What? Ok. I quit at this point. It's all very confusing and not scary at all. Sorry. :( The voice overs and artwork aren't bad, for what it's worth. If this developer were to release…

A Week of Circus Terror is an independently produced horror experience that mixes point-and-click investigation with survival-oriented nighttime encounters. Developed and published by Richard Haraším, it has the unmistakable qualities of a personal solo project, favoring unusual ideas and handcrafted presentation over technical sophistication. The premise revolves around an old house with a disturbing history, and the game gradually turns that location into both a mystery to investigate and a dangerous environment to survive. The story follows Gerald as he searches for his missing son, eventually becoming involved with a house connected to a suicide that occurred decades earlier. The building's past provides the foundation for the supernatural events that follow, and discovering what happened becomes an important part of Gerald's investigation. It is a straightforward setup, but it gives the player a meaningful reason to examine rooms, interact with suspicious objects, and pay attention to clues rather than treating the house as nothing more than a backdrop for scares. One of the game's defining ideas is its division between daytime investigation and nighttime survival. During th…

Despite being inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's, it was interesting game, even if at first was found on Gamejolt. The elements to the game is cool but of course it had some bugs such as after getting The Clown's achievement in the attic, you'll prob get stuck there, or getting a piece of paper on the attic on Day 4 then you're stuck. The very fact you are dealing with the haunted Toys was infact interesting concept whatsoever, but you lacked on giving hints but atleast the Pieces of Paper section helps from time to time. One negative part aside from lack of hints and bugs, probably the voice acting but is still ok whatsoever. 7/10 from me
