Super Bomberman R

Huge fan of the Bomberman franchise, and absolutely love this game - it's your fun, average run of the mill Bomberman game with updated graphics and gameplay. For Steam Deck compatibility, use GE-Proton10-29. It plays all cutscenes and I have not experienced any crashes. TDP settings are set to 9 Watts also. Also, runs great on my Potato PC.

IT IS VERY FUN

Good ol` Bomberman, with custom matches, both local and online, as well as story mode, just like every other Bomberman game ever. Cool thing is there are characters from other franchises, like Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania. WAAAY too grindy if you want to do all achievements(1 ooo ooo bombs, blocks and 1 ooo matches), coins are also earned way too slowly to be worth unlocking all of the shop items(150 per MP match and 300 per grand prix match). Difficulty in the story mode ramps up for no reason on some levels, there are missions where enemies spawn infinitely until you do the objective, but there is no enemy cap, so you will be over run sooner or later, terrible balancing on such missions. Whoever designed mission 7-9 in story mode should go to straight to jail.

Super Bomberman R is a game that exists. I had some fun with it and I can see the potential, but the game just falls flat on some stuff. But besides it's flaws, I still kinda like SBR1. Story mode is weird. Stages feel super punishing, but there's barely real punishment for losing all the lives other that losing in-game currency if you continue for first 2 times on one planet. After first 2 continues, you can just continue for free. I'm not even mentioning some questionable stuff in the story. Multiplayer modes can be addictive like crack, even with CPUs. Too bad online is dead... For soundtrack, man, THIS THING GOES HARD! I LOVE THIS GAME'S OST!!! As results, I'm not even sure if I should recommend SBR1 or not. I'll gonna recommend it just because there's no mid rating for Steam reviews and, as I said before, I kinda like this game. If anything, just get it if you curious enough like me, I guess. (On extra note, I kinda see this game as Sonic Lost World of Bomberman franchise)
