Pipe Dreams

[b]Pipe Dreams is a little more unusual than the standard pipe swivelling puzzle games out there. [/b] Instead of facilitating the flow of water by manipulating pipes, we have the pleasure of controlling a slime like creature around the board using WASD. The goal is still to travel from point A to point B, but the slime can go anywhere on the board if there is a route ahead, and must be careful to avoid traps, whilst collecting an array of goodies to bolster score. Getting to point B advances you to the next level, and collecting treasures earns you points and achievements, so it's entirely up to you if you want to go for these extra titbits, but the game would be boring if you didn't, as it really isn't much of a challenge otherwise. Getting the extra coins and jewels on the map provided most of the challenge, and the achievements associated with collecting them provided most of the incentive to continue. It is quite easy to complete levels, and although they do increase in difficulty, there's not much stopping you from advancing. There is no time limit, or option for a timed game; no enemies on the board; and only a couple of pitfalls, including disappearing squares, and boil…

It's a maze game with minimum puzzle logic rather than a random walking algorithm to solve it. I can say that this game enlightened me upon some design principles and how important they are, to the point that we take them for granted. Like for instance how a mousewheel could have been used to scroll the screen but isn't. At the end of the day this is a basic game costing about the value you'd agree.

Pipe Dreams is a fun and relaxing 2D puzzle game that offers a cozy and charming gaming experience. The cute, customizable slimes add an extra layer of enjoyment, making it a great game to unwind with.

A cute reimagining of a classic. Short but grindy, somehow.

It's pretty mediocre. No glitches or bugs detected, but it doesn't get the ol dopamine factory rollin, at least for me.

It's cute and fun. Looks like it's endless, so you can play for achievements easily enough. Nice to unlock customisation for your slime. Had a couple buggy deaths around hot pipes. Gets back into game-play quick and with a new level (can be good or bad). Auto-saves only. Wish the level window would do something like scroll, perhaps half a screen down, when you reach the bottom row. Wish it had more music to play to. Happy there's no hard time limit.
