Great game! Fans of X-Com type games should definitely play it. This game won't disappoint you.

I am absolutely disgusted this game wasn't a Huge success. F!@# those agenda driven critics thankfuly I've started to see this game mentioned posiitively more and more rescently - I did get the game plus 5 DLCs all for 80% off so it is possible my enthusiasm starts with that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After 50% It's fine I've played better, but fine a few annnoyances but for that doesnt take away from the combat seems quite replayable If you make 'smart' choices you'll enjoy it at 80% off anyway

Similar to XCOM, with its own limitations that invite more interesting gameplay of its relatively short campaign. As your forces fight through the short few weeks before D-Day, every day counts, every choice matters, and even if you think you did well, you might lose the campaign. The game does invite a 2nd playthrough at least, especially if you don't hit a good result by campaign end. It's tougher than it seems, it's fun, it could have more depth, but as it stands, a solid tale of a little explored WWII history through solid tbs gameplay.

Very nifty TBS game. If you are after deep weapon customization and lots of armament options, this is not it. However, the skill trees are very elaborate and they genuinely buff your troops in a noticeable way. The world map can be a bit confusing at first, as it isn't very clear which icon does what exactly. But once you get used to it it works great. Where this game shines, is in combat. You have 3 mission types: - Stealth: unlimited stealth kills - Ambush: start in stealth, but fighting is inevitable - Straight up gun fight Stealth is completely optional if that's not your thing. But it's well done, mechanics wise. I really enjoy the ambush missions where you scout the place out, take down some enemies in stealth mode and then ambush them from (ideally) and advantageous setup. When it works as planned, it's super satisfying. Overall, very enjoyable. I am 10 hours in and am about 30% through the campaign. Replay value is limited to missed missions and different unlocked soldiers. I will say tho, this is no JA3 or Bloodhouds. The soldiers, while all unique, are... not all that unique.
