About Tippy Tree

Christmas is just around the corner and it’s time to decorate! Tippy Tree is a virtual reality puzzle game that has you decorate the tippiest of trees. Celebrate the holiday season with trinkets aplenty, but be careful - these are some seriously heavy ornaments, and without careful planning, all of your work may come crashing down!

Excellent for families, holiday lovers, and VR beginners, Tippy Tree features:

Puzzle Mode
Our classic puzzle mode featuring a sequence of progressively tippier trees.

Hard Mode
A mode for the most careful of hands, these ornaments get crushed if you squeeze too hard!

Infinite Mode
How far can you go? Infinite doesn’t end until your tree topples!

Decoration Mode
There’s our hammer! We bolted the tree to the floor so you can decorate without worry.

Presents!
Expert decorators get rewarded! Check under the tree for gifts that unlock new ornaments!

Ornaments galore!
Sometimes those red and white tinsel balls aren’t enough, so we’ve added 30 unique ornaments for you to collect and use on your dream tree.

Room-Scale Virtual Reality for You, and You, and You!
Get the perfect angle by playing in room-scale VR with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the charming Christmas concept and festive atmosphere, with generally functional mechanics and good progression difficulty, though some find it offers good value. However, the game's physics system is a major pain point—reviewers consistently criticize unpredictable tree balance, poor controls, and lack of feedback that make the gameplay frustrating rather than rewarding, with several players finding the overall experience mediocre despite the solid initial idea.

This is a cute, festive game. It really helped me get in the Christmas spirit, especially since I haven't actually even put my own tree up at home. Mostly the mechanics work well; I like how you can extend your hand and rotate around the tree. It definitely gets insanely harder once you reach the white tree, and have medium/heavy ornaments, but I like a challenge. I like the addition of the special ornaments you get, that also serve as an ad for the developer's other games. I guess the only negative is sometimes it seems like the tree gets stuck in a static position, and no matter what ornament I placed it never tipped over. This happened a couple of times, but most recently was after I failed one of the white tree levels several times. Maybe it was a glitch, or maybe the game was taking pity on me. Can't really go wrong for $1.99. It's a pleasant, casual game with a crackling fire and jolly music to get you in the holiday spirit while you will your tree to stay upright. I've been mistakenly calling it Tipsy Tree, which I think works too.

+Balancing game not used +Somewhat fun +/- Pricey for meh gameplay -Bad physics -bad mechanics -Horrible controls 2/5 Good concept, however the physics/tippyness are horribly executed, with this type of game you want at least somewhat realistic physics, and much better controls. (Vive) Oooooof.... interesting idea but the controls don't feel too good. I doubt I'll come back to it. I definitely enjoy their snow fortress game more.

Tippy trree is a Family Friendly Christmas VR title that you should consider only if you are looking to have a bit of fun. https://youtu.be/WRUCAt825Rk Whilst the concept is excellent, the graphics are acceptable and the music is AWESOME! <-- Well pretty good anyway, there are few issues with this game which could so easily be fixed if only the developers would listen and implement solutions.
POSITIVES
* Fun (mostly) * Unique & excellent game idea * Family Friendly * Great Festive Music * Decent progression and difficulty (mostly)
NEGATIVES
- The physics are woeful; the tree goes from stable to uncontrollably unbalanced with no warning at all - Very little if any feedback (the arrow is a poor design - solution added below)
SUGGESTIONS
1) Improve the physics, at the moment the tree falls in blocks and not gradually, this means resolving instability is almost impossible once you pass level 5. 2) Add a circle on the ceiling with a dot indicating the centre of the tree...this way we can look up and see how we have altered and where the centre of balance is (much better than the arrow - which is poor). 3) Allow us to skip a bauble (you can hold onto a baub…
