Panta Rhei - Guardian of Time

I don't often leave reviews early enough to be within the refund window, and given what I've seen so far this is very much a sideways thumb kind of review at the moment, but this game hasn't gotten much attention yet and I do think it's good enough to be worth a look so I'll mark it positive for now. Just temper your expectations, this is very much a small dev team sort of game. And maybe wait for a sale. + Style is neat. Almost a claymation sort of aesthetic in the game world, and the cutscenes are well animated. + Time powers so far all make sense and seem to have a high skill ceiling. So far I've gotten self time reversal to repeat attacks and break shields, environment time reversal to manipulate traps, time freeze to lock enemies or environment objects in place, and time stop to set up teleports. I know there are at least two more waiting in the wings as well, just from what I've seen along the way. + Roguelike elements all seem to be working. The per run upgrade pool I've seen so far has been decently varied, the permanent upgrades seem all right as well and are tied to progression and not just attempts. Great Game! First of all, I’d like to say I’m more of a casual gamer and haven’t played many games similar to this, but it was such a cool experience. I love the fight animations and the gameplay, especially with the time rewinding mechanic. The music, the ambiene and everything in general is just such a vibe. Perfect game to just sit back, relax, and enjoy some gaming.

this was so much fun!! i loved the fighting mechanics, the sound design, the art & the beautiful animations. the UI could maybe use a few tweaks here and there (especially the map) and I ran into some bugs. but overall it was still really fun & i'm excited to explore further 🐟

It's a very charming little indie game! The time bending mechanic feels new and is so well implemented. I enojyed the cut scenes very much. well done!

This game would have been really good if it were not for the deluge of glitches and bugs that occure... Here are some examples: - random t-posing time echos - bridge suddenly snapping into a different direction while crossing - bumping onto seemingly nothing but air - fog gate simply not opening after defeating all enemys, too bad you have to reset - getting shoved off a platform by an instant attack that is not even in range of you - getting teleported after the fall to the *wrong* platform, while enemys on the other platform are still alive and shooting ranged attacks over the screen, unseen - traps just stop activating at all - bombs stop blinking, but still explode after their set time, so you have to guess when they do - a rewinded statue braking even though I froze it, while the freeze timer is still on it - enemy charges behind a fog gate and is stuck there and on and on... While the combat mechanics are relatively basic at first, the time mechanics on top of it make combat pretty fun. But then theres a blink mechanic introduced that is just awkward to use. Instead of just blinking, you have to slow time, place a blink echo manually, release, and then blink to the placed ec…
