Bite the Bullet

Bite the Bullet is a somewhat broken console ported 2D retro pixel side scrolling shooter. There's a few gimmicks like a mechanic that allows you to "eat" your enemies to recover health, but this doesn't make the game remotely better or more interesting than any other shovelware 2D retro pixel game. The game is broken for many users under recent builds of Windows 10 and 11, launching past the first splashscreen into an endless black screen... you can terminate this by switching desktops (win + -> keys) and then launching task manager to kill the stalled process. Surely the pinnacle of game development... not testing their game or making sure it runs on Windows. If you can get it to work, from a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Can't recommend the game, been trying to play it on my steamdeck and it won't load past the startup screen. Just stays black and unresponsive.

its kinda boring

You would think it can't be that bad. But it is so dated, so slow. The basic idea was ok, but it is not good. Does not feel good to play.
