this game is IMMACULATE, it feels kind of like stalker in a way you're a bit unguided. it's open world because the area is large but has a linear path so you are not directionless. this game really makes you feel like a ranger, you show up and you go from destroyed village to destroyed village learning about what caused their destruction through notes and memory glimpses, perhaps finding a boss to fight as well. progression is very unique as in there is no exp, you have locked relic slots and weapon skills that you need to explore for the materials to unlock and enhance your gear. and the stories in this game are fantastic! the regretful son who carved out his heart in place of his jewels, why try and make me cry game? my favorite boss so far is the knight of the last light, made me want to lose to him to keep the last light going, You my friend are a chad. combat is very satisfying as well, although i have a gripe about how some bosses endlessly attack. the magic attack that replaces the heavy attack could use some touching up too, maybe make it able to be modified with new effects and animations? solid game worth the 34$ the gear in the game looks amazing too. i really enjoy the …

PS2 game

The game is overall enjoyable. Feels like an early playstation2 hack n slash game. But it looks like it too... It's amosphere is catchy, you go in, everything on a village is on fire cause of some bandits. It catches your attention for a moment. If you're into that vibe. some things for the devs: You guys NEED to insert advanced graphics options. On a gtx570ti the game just looks like an emulated ps2 game with resolution stretch only and no fixes. Controls are pretty solid though... no major issues. Fights are enjoyable. But the camera is absolutely terrible on some smaller scenarios. Sounds and music are ok. Kind of generic and music loops a lot, but well chosen and gets you in the mood. Missing some combat music, though. Wouldn't recommend this game in this state, maybe after some more patches. keep it up and it'll be an awesome game

Flat out mind numbingly lackluster dialogue, of which there is an absurd amount more than there should be in the first place, and somehow it all still says nothing and tells what amounts to no real narrative at all! On top of that, it's just too easy. I stuck around 'til I killed the first boss, and literally I flew straight through so breathlessly that I'm just entirely nonengaged now. It sucks... First not that reviews mean everything this is still a place I and many others all of us like to come to. Haven't noticed many more reviews since released and the de3velopers great updates. So I just had to leave something. This is a fantastic fun game. Exploration is great and I love the combat. Cant wait to see how much more it gets , but currently 80 something bosses. I did run into some cheese later with bosses will see but definitely can recommend The Relic The First Guardian as a very fun game.
