It is a fun little game to play with a friend.

And pixelcrap instead of real graphics? Gamers didn't walk away from this, they sprinted. Another case of a developer not bothering to even consider if it's a good idea before writing a bunch of code and slapping down $100 for Steam Direct. This is a dead PvP game. This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so.
