Battle Arena: Euro Wars is a turn based capture the flag experiment that doesn't really work on any level. While I think there are many interesting aspects in the game (time based turns and squad mechanics), as a whole is barely playable. Capture the flag is easily won once you learn to just play keep away (The enemy won't ever try to take your flag) The other types of stages can be won by just relying on your squad and getting lucky due to damage RNG. If your not facing the enemy perfectly you will miss which is frustrating. The random damage from weapons is awful too dealing anywhere from 2% to 100% of health, predicting whose low on health becomes impossible, not that you can really help those with low health.

"Unless you like getting ganged up (5 or more-to-1) and beaten/shot to death, then Battle Arena: Euro Wars might not be the game for you!" Looking at the game's Steam page, I went into the game expecting nothing but a playable game, and in that respect, I think I can say that Battle Arena: Euro Wars somewhat delivered - I'm reeeaaaally stretching the definition of "playable" here. However, if you ask me if this is a game I'd play for even an hour, I can confidently say "No". In addition to the clunky controls and lousy graphics, I don't really enjoy the idea of having my ass handed to me by 5 AI bots again and again until I either give up or, by some miracle (not), win a match. It is basically a turn-based game where the objective, depending on the game mode you chose to play, can range from grabbing your opponents' flag and hold on to it for 100 seconds or simply assassinate an assigned target, while staying alive. That would have been a fine objective if not for the overwhelming forces you'll have to face - 5-to-1 is just so unfair, and picking them off one at a time is just not feasible. That said, the game does have one main intriguing game mechanism. Unlike many oth…

Battle Arena: Euro Wars is a very poorly made 3D rendered top down turn based tactical strategy game where you play capture the flag in small, low poly arenas with a "Europe collapsed so let's have small turn based strategy fights in low poly arenas" theme. It's exceptionally badly made and clunky, there's no direct freelook with the camera, so you need to enter "cam mode" just to look around. Player movement is equally clunky and nonsensical. Combat is a sad joke. But the good news is that this game has great symmetry. The game concept and design is abysmally badly done... and so is the technical implementation. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely fu…

The game doesnt look and play all that bad. The capture the flag mode is a bit weird, as i killed everyone, but didnt get to hold it for 100 seconds. The prologue is basic but a bit original for a change. Just shoot for afar , aiming at the enemy, and also throw a molly during your turn for an instant kill. The game can give you no mercy if you play it wrong, but its also basic after you get these things right.
