Bound in Time (2025)

Bound in Time is a fun little co op shooter that caught my attention because of its unusual combination of a futuristic cyborg and a samurai fighting monsters together. I liked the idea immediately because the two characters feel very different from each other, and the whole time travel setting gives the adventure a colorful sci fi fantasy atmosphere. The combat is built around surviving waves of creatures while making good use of each character's abilities. Lux has heavier firepower, while Hikari is much more mobile and focused on close range attacks. I enjoyed switching between those different styles because it makes the two characters feel useful in their own ways. The enemies also have different attacks, including creatures that can spit acid or hold me in place, so simply standing still and shooting everything is not always enough. The cooperative mechanics are probably my favorite part. I can heal my partner, revive them when they go down and use abilities to stun or eliminate enemies when they are under pressure. I like that this gives the two players an actual reason to pay attention to each other instead of just splitting up and shooting everything independently. When a …
