About Codename: Black Crow

"In a world where the past never dies, the battlefield is the only place that holds the answers. Surviving isn’t enough: discover who you truly are and face your fears."
The past never dies…

Set years after the events of Biomech Hell, Codename: Black Crow follows Aurora, a young soldier trained by the war legends Rock and Stan — better known as Thunderflash.
Once a child soldier in a remote area of Mexico, Aurora carries a painful past, revealed through focused, impactful dialogues and illustrated hi-res anime-style scenes that enrich the game’s retro atmosphere.
Old-school Action-RPG with an arcade soul!

Codename: Black Crow is the direct sequel to Thunderflash and Biomech Hell, reinvented with a fresh formula blending fast-paced run & gun arcade action with exploration, crafting, and light RPG mechanics.
Start with a knife and a handful of rations in a hostile land swarming with enemies. Use your radar to explore over 100 areas, gather resources, clear outposts, find new gear, and craft upgrades at workbenches.
Level up, unlock new blueprints, and face off against brutal bosses and challenges.
Includes Thunderflash 2!

Codename: Black Crow was originally planned as Thunderflash 2, a pure arcade-style sequel even more fast-paced and explosive than the original. But as the story expanded, the project grew into something bigger — a new, standalone adventure for Aurora.
We didn’t want to leave Thunderflash 2 behind though, so it’s been integrated as an unlockable bonus inside Codename: Black Crow. Complete the main campaign to unlock this retro shooter experience.
Key Features:
 • A mature, emotional story filled with powerful moments.
 • Fight, explore, gather materials, and craft upgrades.
 • Unlock new equipment to access fresh paths and tactics.
 • Discover 3 different endings.
 • Conquer enemy outposts and face brutal bosses.
 • Unlock Thunderflash 2, the direct sequel to Thunderflash!
 • Authentic 16-bit pixel art style.
 • Gorgeous hand-drawn illustrations by Coconut Art.
 • Tons of achievements to unlock.

A sort of hybrid of Ikari Warriors and Metal Gear with a focus on resource collection and crafting. You'll wander the map in search of equipment, supplies, XP, and key items, with the occasional more arcadey dungeon to break things up a bit. The Thunderflash 2 bonus game is a nice little after-party, though it makes the odd decision to continue from the main game's bad ending, which left me with a downer feeling after completing everything. I have a lot to criticize here, but it's a good game overall. if it looks like you'll enjoy it, you probably will. In terms of gameplay, action is solid and satisfying, if fairly basic. Grunts die bloodily in a single hit and their attacks are pretty deadly until you've leveled up a fair bit. Ammo is limited and upgrades aren't cheap, so I was always counting my shots and looking out for more materials. Resting at a camp restores your health for free and respawns enemies, but also respawns resources. Controls are a little bit stiff. Aurora moves slowly and can only fire in the direction she's moving; there is a dodge roll and a command to rotate in place, but no strafe. This means you'll be doing a lot of snap shots or (once you're to…

Yet another heavenly slice of nostalgia from SEEP. I was super excited for this one and it did not disappoint! Can't wait to jump into it further. Love the consistency of SEEP releases, dropping these retro style bangers, one after another and how each one feels unique to its own. I I will be a SEEP fan for life!
