CROSS†CHANNEL: Steam Edition

As everyone knows this work has mostly ass translations, and indeed steam one is one of the worst. I played it with amaterasu translation which is the one I recommend for everyone till they release something better someday. Steam version has some mini stories that are entertaining and also it adds a lot of CGs I think its worth the 3€. But please play the main game with amaterasu translation or in JOP if you know JOP. Now I will talk a bit about the game itself. First of all, this game wont be liked by a lot of people. it has a weird pacing, "problematic" characters and scenes and also the storytelling is confusing it some parts. Ofc there are people who enjoys this like me for example but I understand a lot of people will dislike this traits. As for the main plot and characters I really liked the plot overall, its simple yet its very well executed. Each character has their own individuality and they do not feel empty or plain at all. The main character is the best thing of this whole novel, imo he carries everything ofc, and indeed he turned to be one of my fav characters. First and foremost: DO NOT read it through this edition. The best things about this VN are the kinds of things that a bad translation bungles especially, and this one is to be avoided at all costs. There are roughly two options for translations: I'd recommend the George Henry Shaft one. Ixrec/Amaterasu is just factually wrong in some places and in general is much more prosaic, makes it easier on the eyes but worse on the ears. A lot of what works here, both as subtext and as layering, works because of almost psychoanalytical elements to the ways characters talk, there is always intent and thought behind why things are said in the way that they're said, and GHS replicates this best, I've found (though sometimes he confuses himself in his tendentious theorizing and lets an awkward phrasing slip into the translation; thankfully you can pretty easily spot when he's confused himself for nothing, and the other translations are there for you to check when that happens). There's also some new, somewhat goofy AI translation, which is honestly mostly fine but bungles in some important, consistent ways (the most obvious one, spoilerlessly, is that it's important that things said in the same w…

I really see myself in taichi although he and I both have a exquisite taste and love of petite anime girls he luckily got to spend thousands of loops doing what he wanted with them. well, as the game goes it was memorable the characters, all of them had depth and an interesting story. the girls were actually likeable something you wouldn't experience with those irl. from youko's bland expressions but unconditional love, to mimi's big bus- heart it was an enjoyable experience connecting with them all. the soundtracks were soothing to hear and the art was also decent. unfortunately it is the censored version but my mind was able to conceive nsfw scenes at the relevant moments so 9/10.
