It suits the color matching play well enough, but it also feels like the coat of paint is doing more for the game than the substance of the cross making action. The timer doesn’t add the kind of pressure that leads to exciting battles for high scores, things more dependent on the negative pieces eventually becoming a bit too much to handle at a point that often sneaks up on you. It works well enough up until that sometimes surprise ending, and while Versus can add some intensity despite the barriers to play it, the modes don’t offer too much else of depth to make this the kind of puzzle game you can get stuck into for hours.

Crossniq+ is a cool game to just chill out to or test your skill in efficiency and quick thinking. It's not the fullest experience but is certainly fun. The game has pretty simple gameplay of just trying to make crosses. There are a few main mechanics, the 2 special kinds of tiles and the ability to move multiple tiles at once. Once the difficulty gets high, the tiles will make the game extremely difficult and you'll have to be as quick as possible to come up with a plan to get everything in place. There's the main endless mode that continuously gets harder, the time attack mode where you have to get a high score in 1-5 minutes and then finally a chillout mode where you play endlessly without a time limit on a stylized grid with relaxing ambience. All the modes allow you to choose the number of tiles you wanna play with, 6x6 up to 16x16. You don't get additional time it seems on endless if you play with such a big grid though, so it feels unfair and I suggest you keep to 6-10 tiles. Stimulating gameplay, charming graphics, and amazing music.

This is a game I barely play, but I will never uninstall from my computer, it's really good. Imagine a arcade style puzzle game where your reflexes and adaptability are what matter most. You are going to be put in situations only your instinct can eye coordination can solve and I love it, and other times screw yourself over without realizing until the clock it's screaming at you. Great music, cool aesthetic and a simple concept on a small price. What more can you ask for?
