A very fun game! Had to force myself to put the Controller down as this game is obviously digital crack cocaine. The aesthetics and paper-craft is amazing, also Derrick is a very derpy shark, I am extremely petrified of sharks, and this makes them friend-shaped...
I just want to give this game a positive review for I think it deserves it. I've been following Derrick The Deathfin since the Steam Greenlight days and had it sitting on my wishlist ever since. Then, some day, it was released, but had not attracted too many people, so review-wise it was unclear if the game is worth its price. Also, through all the sales that happened the past years, the game never was on discount - until now. And it is really worth it: - The story is rather rudimentary, but presented humorous andy funny - tasks are varying (in ok manner for the size of the game) - the papercraft artwork is astounding! - animations as well as the game itself run pretty fluid As mentioned by others, the controls for a 2D platformer are somewhat unprecise, but you can get used to that. Also, some tutorial or hints on what is to do (second boss, for example) would make it easier to understand how to progress. Overall, Derrick The Deathfin is a good-looking, rather short experience, but for the current 2023 winter sale discount (not even one dollar / euro) I fully recommend checking this game out.
This game is about as silly and as beautiful and as old school as you can get, just pick it up!
Fun little game. Lots of personality to it. You can tell the devs really had fun making it. Downside: Controls could be better, and sometimes you're left wondering what to do. Upside: It's quirky and fun. Most of the time you'll just be laughing.
