DRAFTYCAR 2 is a pleasant surprise that I really did not expect to enjoy so much. The gameplay is simple, and there is a very limited amount of things you can do, but it's on early access for a reason. Playing this game with friends and on-stream has been a blast and if you have the money, I would recommend picking it up. Consider it, like other early access projects, like an investment for greater things down the line. It's clear from interacting with the devs that they really want this game to be the best it can be, and of course that will take time. Be patient, don't be so judgmental, and have fun. Hopefully more folks will pick the game up and enjoy the chaos that is DRAFTYCAR 2.

This game is dumb fun and surprisingly scratches an itch I didn't really know I had. Drafting battles were something I'd try to set up in other games but it was never as fun. Sometimes I'd fire up Nascar Heat 5, and that game's okay, but it never really sucked me in too much. I'd try to set up drafting battles at Daytona in Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Motorsport 2023, but Forza's AI is pretty lackluster and doesn't handle draft battles well. Every now and then I'll fire up Gran Turismo 3 and play the [i]Like The Wind[/i] event, which is still a good time, but that race can be cheesed pretty easily by just throwing long tall gears on one of the overpowered race cars. This is different. I like how all of the cars perform identically and the ONLY means of increasing your speed is by drafting. It's an engaging mechanic, and yet at the same time it's the kind of game that you can absentmindedly play while you're in a Discord call just chatting about whatever. I like this kind of stuff. Things I'd want to see more of as this game develops: -More camera angles (hood and roof cams would be killer. I'm sure a cockpit cam would be asking too much but I can dream) -An increased sense of sp…

The core gameplay is a blast, especially with friends, but I purchased this with the expectation that Career Mode (which already exists in the mobile version) was included or would be released soon. I'm not so sure anymore.
