重生之我在桌面修仙 is a very simple idle desktop game built around the idea of cultivating immortality while I am doing other things on my computer. Instead of giving me a big world to explore or constant combat, it puts a small cultivation character on my desktop and lets them meditate, make pills and even fly around on a sword automatically. I can leave it running while I do other things and come back later to see how much progress has been made. I actually like how relaxed the whole idea is because it does not demand my attention all the time. The main progression is based around getting stronger through cultivation and reincarnation. I can build up my character over time, unlock new lives and continue accumulating power even when I am not actively playing. The offline progression fits the game really well because the whole point is that I do not need to sit there constantly clicking things. I can check in, make adjustments and then let the character continue working in the background. It feels more like having a little cultivation companion on my desktop than playing a traditional RPG.
