thought it was a really cool idea but the dev just made the game feel like your in slow motion the whole time and found myself not even wanting to get past the tutorial the game feels extremely sluggish and bland trick wise unless a new update comes this game is not ever earning a spot next to skate or any of my snow boarding games disappointing 3/10

I actually loved it, i was so bummed after realizing theres just 1 level. Theres one thing that made the game fun for me: the exploits, if u flip and do a simple trick at the same time after charging up a jump lets you gain infinite height if done right, it was really fun. pls embrace the mechanic and make it official plsplsplspls

This is yet another student project, one of literally thousands self-published on Steam Direct. It's from Carnegie Mellon University in the USA. This is the result of an academic exercise for students. It's not a full, complete game in the way professionally developed products are. While it has more quality than most amateur games, it's not a complete gaming experience. Student projects have limited value for gamers because they're not fully developed games, just barely functional demos that show the students progress. Steam is not a place for for-profit colleges to dump student homework assignments... and having thousands of these is not good for gamers. Just like it says on the box, this is a console-esque third person 3D platformer with a pogo stick mechanic that has you bouncing around between urban themed platforms... and yet it plays even worse than the early 1990's Commander Keen games. Controls are quite janky and unpleasant, it doesn't play well at all. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Cool idea, somewhat poor execution. I can excuse the lack of content, interesting terrain or objectives as it basically a demo. The mechanics don't really feel connected, the tricks don't help you in any way other than filling the meter, and the big jump doesn't give you anything other than coins. They're just slapped on top of the regular movement, and exist only for it's own sake. Ziplines locking your controls is a bummer, i'd love to be able to jump off at any time instead of being stuck for tthe whole ride and thrown off. While on the topic, no jump button also sucks, and jumping horizontally is pretty slow. Awfully often, i was thinking how you should just be able to move normally, only taking out the pogo when you want to jump, and needing to hit the jump button at the right time as you touch the floor, for a bigger bounce or whatever. As is, the movement revolves around pointing the left stick around, and using a flip if you get stuck on the terrain. It would need a LOT of polishing if it would to ever be turned into a full game.

Gravitrix is one of those games that I did not really know what to expect from until I started playing it. It is basically an extreme pogo stick sports game mixed with 3D platforming, and somehow that simple idea works better than I expected. I play as Bucky, bouncing around a small futuristic town while trying to pull off tricks, collect things and get better at moving around without constantly falling to the ground. It is silly, colourful and has a nice sense of freedom to it. The movement is easily the best part for me. Controlling a pogo stick sounds like it should be awkward, but there is actually a surprising amount of control once I get used to the physics. I can jump, use timed boosts to gain extra height and perform different tricks while moving through the environment. The game includes classic pogo tricks as well as more advanced moves, and I enjoyed experimenting to see how many things I could chain together without completely losing control. The grinding mechanic is another feature I really liked. I can use the pogo stick to grind along edges and wires in a way that feels more like skateboarding than traditional platforming.
