Please consider adding some roguelike mechanic, something like: every time the player loses, they earn some resource or upgrade to improve the next run. This would greatly increase replayability and keep players more engaged.10 found this helpful
This is a simple little game where you plant crops to defend against incoming enemies. You begin with a field and a small bundle of coins, which you use to buy seeds and cultivate plots of land. The first plot costs only five coins, but each additional plot becomes five coins more expensive than the last. Fortunately, you earn a small amount of coins each cycle, which represents the passage of time through the four seasons. These cycles are short, lasting only a few seconds, and each one brings different effects. For example, you might receive a discount when purchasing seeds, or your plants may grow at a faster rate. Once a plot is ready, you can purchase seeds and plant them. After watering, the seed grows within a few seconds. Each game offers four random plant types, though you can refresh the selection if you don’t like what you see. The first refresh is free, but every subsequent one costs an additional coin. Every plant has its own type of attack, but the real depth comes from their unique perks. Rice, for instance, grants you two extra coins each cycle, while bamboo boosts the attack speed of all your crops. These perks activate at the end of every cycle, and the more cr…1 found this helpful
Recommended 🥕⭐️⭐️½ This quirky little game plays like a tower defense with VeggieTales energy — simple, a bit silly, and lightly strategic. The gameplay loop is fun but fairly basic, with just enough rotation and planning to keep you engaged for a session or two. While it could use more content and replay incentives (a few roguelike mechanics or random elements would go a long way), it’s worth the price for a casual experience.
Short, sweet, carrot. It is somewhat a tower defense game but with veggietales. A simple rotation with a small amount of strategy. For the price it is a recommend from me but definitely could use some more content. I didn't finish a year but could see how the game would unfold if I did. There needs to be a reason to do another run other than just achieving achievements like some kind of rougelike mechanics that change your run. Carrot, onion, chili.
Very charming tower-defense rouge-like. The price is very reasonable for how fun this game is. There is a lot of room for this game to be polished. An addition of volume settings, graphics settings, more language compatibility, a chart of the upgrades you have unlocked with crop tiers accessible in the menu would all be great improvements to the game. The quick pacing of the game feels very satisfying. I love that you can upgrade your crops to tier 3, and I hope that there will be upgrades to tier 4 or more later on. In the build I played, the game difficulty between year 2 and year 3 is very high (about a few minutes into the run), and I hope for it to be rebalanced into a more steady difficulty, with maybe less enemy spawns. It feels impossible to finish year 3 at all. The health bars for the crops feel very unclear. I wish there was some way to see how far you've made into a run instead of only "amount completed", as I have been struggling to make one completed run. It is also unclear what constitutes a completed run. This game shows great potential to be even better, and I hope it will be continued to be developed. For how cheap it is, 9/10 easily. I'm excited to see…
