Was a mediocre on-rails shooter until I got to a bit where the dev made the ambient colour palate the same as the bullets you are trying to dodge. Thus Invisible. Doh!

Above average onrails shooter, its easy to get into, to understand the mechanics and to use weapons. Performance is excellent on a 1080, the poly graphics help a ton, but that doesnt take away from the experience, the enemies have nice animations when hit, not that its incredible, but its way better to those other games where enemies are immune to damage until death. Gameplay is easy, reloading is done automatically by lowering your weapons, you have infinite ammo for your secondary weapon (pistols or smgs as you upgrade) and limited magazines for your primary rifle, more ammo can be found during levels as well as different weapons like shotgun, heavy mg, sniper(no scope just the heavy punch), that will help a lot but also have limited ammo. Game has a small store where you can buy primary and secondary weapons, a bit underwelming to be honest. At the time of this review the game is missing at least 2 levels (there are placeholders), only 5 levels available right now. Took me just under an hour to finish them all, with a few restarts and retries on different difficulties. So for the current price id say its barely fair. A couple of levels are definitively unfinished, as they…

~I have since run it again, on my Oculus 3, Seemed to be broken before, I don't think it was the headset but the dev's took note of my gripes and it's really great now and I can now recommend it overwhelmingly. Thank you devs for fixing it, it is quite an enjoyable and great looking rail shooter.

HeadCount is a virtual reality shooter that embraces the philosophy that games do not always need sprawling narratives or open worlds to leave an impression. Developed and published by Monochrome, Inc., the title focuses on delivering quick, energetic sessions built around arcade fundamentals. Inspired by score-chasing classics and reimagined through the lens of VR, it places players in colorful arenas where survival depends on fast reactions, accurate shooting, and a willingness to keep moving. Its premise is uncomplicated, but that simplicity is intentional, allowing the gameplay to remain the centerpiece from beginning to end. The most notable aspect of HeadCount is how effectively it translates the bullet-hell genre into virtual reality. Instead of observing waves of projectiles from a distance, players are physically immersed in the chaos, ducking, weaving, and repositioning themselves as enemy attacks fill the screen. The game encourages constant movement, creating an experience that feels more active than many conventional VR shooters. It supports both standing and seated play, making it accessible to a broader audience while maintaining its fast-paced identity. The control…

Actually awful. It feels like one of the first VR games to ever come to PC but it is in fact, made in 2022. If this was free, I'd be fine, but it isn't. Setup alone is vomit inducing.
