About Hexen: Beyond Heretic
✦ AI summary
Choose from three distinct heroes—Warrior, Mage, or Cleric—each with unique weapons, powers, and spells as you battle through dark fantasy dungeons and crumbling wilderness to stop the Serpent Rider Korax. This fantasy FPS blends supernatural abilities, environmental hazards, and artifact hunting into an action-packed sequel that expands on Heretic's dark magic and otherworldly combat.
Hexen: Beyond Heretic is a fantasy first-person shooter developed by Raven Software and published by id Software in 1995. It is the direct sequel to the first game in the series, Heretic.
While the Sidhe elf Corvus battled the evil forces of D'Sparil, the remaining two Serpent Riders were busy sowing the seeds of destruction in other dimensions. As a Warrior, Mage, or Cleric, you must fight the undead, and brave elemental dungeons and decaying wilderness to defend your realm of Cronos from Korax, the second Serpent Rider.

If DOOM and The Elder Scrolls came together and had an illigitimate love child, this would be it.11 found this helpful
Best game ever and I enjoy the original far more than the remaster! <3
The remaster is a much better option but this doesn't run too horrible either! love the different classes
nightmare fuel that's so nice
Not the biggest fan of Hexen, however if you still wanna play it, play the remaster from Nightdive.
This game is so fun. Everything is pretty intuitive imo. The layout of the levels are amazing, the puzzles are often rewarding, the music is cool, and gameplay across classes is consistently a blast (I prefer the mage :}). Two things I have an issue with regarding the game is that there is one hub where in order to progress, the game asks you to do one thing it teaches you NOT to do without any indication which can leave you running around for a bit, and (SLIGHT SPOILER BUT IMPORTANT) in the final room in the Gibbet if you kill the chaos serpents too fast you can get soft locked. If it were still available I'd recommend using UZDoom as the original controls (mouse or keyboard), while still cool, are a bit slow and can make it quite frustrating on harder difficulties. Untimately, I do recommend the game, just remember to use the map LOL.
