AMID EVIL

What a miserable game. I tried to enjoy it, I did. I had to stop because this is one of the very few games that has triggered my vertigo. The maps are so incredible confusing. Seems to be inspired by Quake but the map design is so bad. Music is serviceable, but I found it to be more of an annoyance to have it on. The way the weapons work has to be the most frustrating part of the game. There is no CLEAR indication for when you are allowed to use a weapon if you have full mana/energy. Got to the second or third boss fight and I just couldn't take it anymore since the movement mechanics were killing me half the time not providing an ounce of forgiveness. If you do pick up the game, I high suggest turning off a number of HUD features if you have eye problems.

I replayed this game and its DLC, the level design is the best i have ever seen in games.

Very strong Boomer Shooter; New Blood truly doesn't miss. The gun variety is really strong with all weapons appearing and feeling unique and viable. Plus, Soul Mode is a fantastic addition, helping speed up the game’s pace in a fun way, and making its gunplay more dynamic. Whilst I appreciate the novelty of its non-linearity, they don’t integrate it deep enough into the mechanics nor levels for it to add to the game’s systems. Instead, I found it to be a mere gimmick, and a hindrance overall because the game fails to signal clearly what the “correct order” is. This caused me to play the last, and most elaborate, level too early, undercutting my own experience with the game's conclusion. To that end, I think the game’s slightly too long. It succeeds in creating a strong variety in its levels and enemies, but the gunplay is fully introduced very early and never changes. This leads to it getting slightly stale by the end in spite of its high quality.

tl dr not bad but nothing special about it if on sale get if not dont. amid evil is not a bad game but didnt excell at anything the story is worse than doom 1 quake blood dusk it does have a story but its so non-existent it might of been better to not have one all you get is a really crappy codex and some voice lines that add almost nothing welcome back champion were with you champion we know who you are. are just about the only voice lines i recall there is writing on some walls but they also are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible story aside the gameplay feels fine it is very standard you get a jump and can sprint/walk there is a powerup to fly but it only comes up a few times aside from that the movements okay nothing noteworthy serviceable the enemys are actually pretty good you get new ones every episode and they are all pretty unigue for the most part the bosses are pretty good straightforward and simple but not to a fault the guns all feel really good but lack variety the azure orb is very useful for its tracking and the mace is really cool but aside from that theyre just ok the swords eh the trident is very cool and fun to use dut is outdone by the azure orb and since they share ammo you …
