About Horizon Beyond

What is Horizon Beyond?

Horizon Beyond is a VR game where you explore the world on a wooden ship which you can control freely. In this unique world, life is scattered on the remaining fragments above the clouds while plants and animals have adapted to the new environment. Look out for special events in the world!

Note: Horizon Beyond is quite a short game, it takes about 20 minutes to finish it

How do I play it?

You will need an Oculus Rift or an HTC Vive to play the game.
The game uses the controllers for interaction with various elements such as the fishing rod and the steering wheel.
Play at your own pace and relax, there is no time limit.

What do I do?

On your journey, you will encounter a small mischievous creature in possession of a golden key. This short encounter leads to an adventurous chase with different surprises during the journey. In addition to navigating the ship, you also have a fishing rod which you can use to catch yummy fish. These can be fed to the pelicans and... other creatures.

I really enjoyed this game, it was one of the first games I played on my oculus rift and it brought so much wonder. The vibes are really airy and smooth, and it truly feels like a flying sailboat ride. I absolutely reccomend giving this beautiful little journey a try!

A short relaxing VR adventure Note: To get the sea monster off your ship, use the fishing rod and grab the fish when you catch one. Feed the fish to the sea monster and you should be able to continue. This is a short VR game where you sail a wooden ship above the clouds and explore a world in search of a golden key. I recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy a peaceful interactive visual experience at their own pace. Give this one a try 😊.

Played this on my meta quest 3s and it worked Alright! A couple issues with the controllers not getting recognized when they briefly disconnected but it might be a setting i need to adjust on my headset itself as i've noticed the issue on other games, A really fun experience! The fishing was a little janky as the fish physics bugged but it was a fun addition, I love the feel as if the wind is pushing against the ship and having to fight it! A lot of fun! The music was very atmospheric but sort've generic. I've just played a little bit and I know I'm going to play more!

On Arch Linux + Valve Index + Nvidia 2080 + SteamVR 2.8.6... this works! It is temperamental loading up, and it (needlessly imo) requires room-scale for some of the tactile puzzles. It is close to being a standing-only game but there are parts where you have to walk to the bows to grab objects and the virtual area is deceptively large. The room I do VR in is pokey at about 4mx4m and that wasn't large enough but I enjoyed the one or two early puzzles I could complete. One of the few good VR games for kids.
