King of Bones

5/10 This game is good for what it is. It's a pretty simple fighting game with a small handful of modes. It won't give you more than a few hours of entertainment, but it's not trying to give you more either. Pros: * Dinosaurs. That's the selling point, and the models look really good. * The gameplay and dinosaur movement feel really good. Cons: * Simple gameplay. This isn't made to be the next big thing; it's something you try out for a bit, then move on. * Lack of variety. In theory, each dino has a "special move". But in reality, there are only a few: tail swing, bite, stomp and jump. * No multiplayer/local-multiplayer. This game would have a LOT more to it if this existed. I don't complain about this typically, but here it would elevate the game so much I think it's worth mentioning. The game feels almost incomplete without it. If you like dinosaurs and want to kill a few hours, this isn't a bad pickup, but I'd recommend getting it on sale.

[h2]Overall Verdict[/h2] You get what you pay for. It’s a simple arena fighting game with a lot of heart put into it that’s fun to mess around with for a couple hours. Past that point King of Bones quickly wears out its welcome - the combat is too shallow, and the map pool and roster too repetitive, to remain interesting for long. I spent eight dollars, saw everything the game had to offer in about twelve hours, and am satisfied with my purchase. [h3]The Good[/h3] King of Bones looks very nice. The graphical fidelity and fluidity of animation is really impressive for a solo project, and more importantly the art direction is great. The maps have a lot of visual variety - deserts, forests, swamps, beaches, even an arena on the moon - and many of them have cool stuff to see in the skybox or boundaries. I particularly like the blood effects, how they stain your teeth and wounds and how it splatters across the ground from attacks and dismemberments. It’s just so visceral and I love it. The controls are simple and intuitive. Almost the entire game is played with just directional inputs, shift, spacebar, and left and right click. i just installed infinite blue not realizing this and that are by the same studio i recommend both

Really good idea but i feel a multiplayer mode along with more gane options or some sort of progression or way to finish the game would be useful that being said i didn't finish the entire game. I will say the combat could be worked on a little more as well but its mainly just minor things that could be adjusted to make it have a better gameplay. But to me it felt like one of those games where you finish all the game modes once and you forget about the game for ever afterwards.

this game is awesome if you love dinosaurs and giant retiles.They even have mammoths and saber tooth tigers or smiladons.
