About Kubits Gallery

Discover the wonderful history of painting around the world in the

Gasp! Every painting in the museums has vanished, they've all gone blank and no one knows why! Luckily the Kubits are taking things over control and with their help you will be able to remake all the works. Solve nonogram grids (picross) to unveil the great canvases of the history of painting around the world remade by the Kubits, these little chameleon squares who glue themselves to grids to make new images.

Kubits Gallery is a logic game for casual players where you can solve different logic puzzles on grids to create images. You can take all the time you need and relax while you solve more than 120 levels of nonogram spread across fictional galleries representing the history of painting in 3 countries.

Nonograms are a bit like crosswords but for pictures, a solo puzzle game where you paint on a grid by blackening the grid cells with Kubits (squares). To achieve this you will have to use the clues located around the grid. These numbers tell you the groups of black squares in a row or a column and the size of the groups. Try this famous game played since long ago but with a modern and colorful twist, telling the story of more than 2000 years of pictorial arts.

Nice puzzle where you can look at pixelated pieces of art. Despite the game's emphasis on pieces of art, the gameplay is classic. If you've never played this type of puzzle before, the rules are really simple. Each puzzle is made up of an empty grid that must be filled in according to the rules set out by the numbers on the top and left sides of the grid. The numbers indicate how many squares in a row or column need to be colored. Zeros and digits that fill the entire length are always the simplest and most effective way to begin. Then you just continue from there to see where the numbers match. The only catch is when there are many numbers in the same row or column. In this situation, there must be at least one empty square between a group of numbers. While difficulty can’t be customized, the three settings let you match your skill level and amount of free time. This is shown in numbers or clues that are automatically removed when you complete a row or column, or you’ll have to do that yourself on the highest difficulty. Another feature is that you can’t lose a game; if you make a mistake, the number will change color. Although puzzles are works of art, you only solve a littl…

This is a somewhat no-frills nonogram puzzler that slips in a few minor departments. Presentation-wise the idea of an art gallery as the hub for puzzles is a solid one, but they're so pixellated and blurred the finished pieces feel disconnected from the puzzles they're assigned to. Not helped by the zoom out when you finish each one. What's more, you'd be hard pressed to identify much of anything from the black and white solutions as they all look like a semi-random mishmash of ticked boxes. It's not bad by any stretch. Puzzles are satisfying to complete, I mentioned it's got nice presentation, and there's a bunch of options to adjust difficulty. Just be aware of the little things and whether those would bother you.
