About Leap of Fate
They say this place makes you face your own fears, your own demons. But it can also reveal your fate… if you survive the trials.

Leap of Fate is a unique blend of isometric perspective, furiously-paced action, and roguelike elements. As one of four technomages hiding in the shadows of New York City, your time has come to confront the Crucible of Fates, a mysterious testing ground that will magically pit you against your own psychological demons. Your journey through the Crucible has you fighting hordes upon hordes of enemies and overcoming deviously laid traps. Your tools are your lightning-fast shadow walk, the powerful glyphs you find, and the magical skills that you upgrade along the way. Your reward for survival? Unspeakable power and a chance to uncover your true fate.

In Leap of Fate, you play one of four mages, each with their own distinct gameplay style and storyline:
Key Features:
Combat in Leap of Fate is extremely quick and deadly. Not only will you face more than a hundred different types of enemies, ranging from pit fighters to mad cultists and hidden turrets, but the procedurally generated levels will keep you on your toes at all times. Be warned; once you die, you must restart from the beginning and try again. Hopefully, you'll have unlocked new permanent upgrades to help you along.

Within each game session, you will find many opportunities to gain magical power. In addition to the game-altering glyphs you randomly find along the way, there are more than a hundred magical abilities total, spread across the Mobility, Attack and Passive skill trees. The twist in Leap of Fate is that skill trees are randomly shuffled, ensuring that each game differs from the previous one. On one run¬¬, you'll float over pits and disintegrate enemies with Atomic Flash, while in the next, you'll be wielding a projectile-reflecting technology while calling upon the Greys to abduct your foes for you.

Sometimes it can be very annoying, still top notch roguelike game despite being and old game. Definitely worth the time and the money.1 found this helpful
Leap of Fate is a fast-moving action roguelite from Clever Plays that blends cyberpunk style, supernatural themes, and intense twin-stick combat into a challenging experience centered around growth through repetition and mastery. Rather than focusing heavily on lengthy storytelling or traditional progression systems, the game builds its identity around speed, adaptability, and repeated attempts at conquering a dangerous mystical trial. The result is a stylish action title that combines futuristic technology and arcane powers in a world that feels both unusual and memorable. The setting presents a version of New York transformed by hidden magic and advanced technology existing side by side. Powerful individuals known as technomages operate within this dangerous world, balancing supernatural abilities with technological advancement. Players take control of one of four unique characters who must survive a brutal supernatural challenge known as the Crucible of Fates. This trial serves as both a test of skill and a deeply personal journey where participants confront fears, regrets, and internal struggles while pursuing power and understanding. Really nice little Indie game
Still holds up tbh. Simple, fun, runs have good development but don't overstay their welcome, cool environments/themes. I don't want to oversell it - it's not a genre-defining game by any stretch, but it's very good if you don't mind the dated graphics. Speaking of which, the visuals really aren't much to look at by today's standards (or even when it came out, really) but the art style is nice, the voice acting isn't cheesy, and the game doesn't take itself too seriously which leads to it just being... fun. Something a lot of "modern games" seem to struggle with.
An action roguelike differentiated by a few unique mechanics (dash that teleports towards the mouse coursor, the ability to go back to stages you cleared to pick up the rewards you couldn't, such as heals), very tight, claustrophobic stages, high tempo, limited dashes/special attacks and an interesting, modern-occult-punk theme which is quite intriguing. If you're either an action roguelike fan or enjoy a setting and theme somewhere between Mage: the Ascension, EYE: Divine Cybermancy, Shadowrun and Secret World (with the caveat that there's not that much setting *material*, mostly vibes and snippets), I think you'll enjoy it!
the game has alot of promise. but there is two things that is mayor for me, atleast enough for me to not recommend it. 1. you dash towards your cursor and not where you direct the dash with your movement keys, atleast for keyboard and mouse. i.e if i hold down s+d, i would like to dash diagonally downwards. so i can shoot while dashing. 2. Last floor difficulty is just darker stage, so you cant see anything. i think taking away the players ability to see is just a poor game mechanic. there are better ways to up the difficulty.
