About Lornsword Winter Chronicle

Lornsword Winter Chronicle is a story-driven action strategy game. Be the general on the battlefield: take direct action to command your soldiers and set up your economy.

Tactics through Action

Control your hero directly: Fight, lead, explore, capture, summon...
Execute your tactics in a heartbeat.

Strategy through planning

Set up your army over time: Manage gold, food, battle fronts, unit types, building upgrades...
Organize your global strategy on several fronts, orienting your economy and relying on your troops intelligence to execute your orders.

Follow the chronicle of the Lorn Empire

You are Corun Lan Ka and the Winter Chronicle is seen through your eyes. The eyes of a Lornknight serving the Empire... and destined to see much more than that.

Choose your difficulty through the story

The Winter Chronicle is told through chapters, each of them lets you choose which battle you want to wage next and what level of challenge you seek. If a specific battle is too hard, try it on another difficulty setting. If you really don’t like it, then skip it altogether: each chapter can be won without winning all of its battles.

Drop in co-op mode

A friend can join you at any point in a battle, no need to restart it or even pause the game... you will share screen space, resources and summons with your ally. If your ally has to drop out, that can also be done instantly, letting you continue your battle in solo mode.

Enjoyed this game a lot. I got it in a bundle and honestly only chose it because it had controller support. Wanted to play a couch coop game with spouse and we stumbled upon this in my library Gameplay was fun and engaging, challenging on the higher difficulties. We got all the achievements except one which seems to have a glitch. The art was lovely. Voice acting is just ok. Story and world building were more intense than I thought going into it. Game ended on a "but wait there's more" But had a satisfying conclusion regardless. I'd totally play a second if it came out Not sure if it's worth full price, wait for a sale. Games about 20 hours worth of gameplay and a lot of fun, different maps

Loved playing the game. It took a few missions for me to fully get into the flow and the atmosphere, but once you are in, you will love it. It is a very interesting blend of RTS and action-oriented mechanics. I really liked the story/setting, the 2D art parts were very nice. The visual effects are quite nice, the persistent effects on the ground from battles and footprints from soldiers.. I thought the soundtrack was amazing, was surprised to hear such a good soundtrack from a seemingly not so high production. The only negative might be that in some of the longer missions and over the course of the game it felt some of the tracks got a little repetitive, so a little more variation could have been great (for example creating two variations of the main OST to limit the amount of work). I think the ramp up of mechanics and difficulty makes you realize slowly what the game has to offer in a very accessible way, this could be why it takes some time to fully get in, but in the long run I think that was a good choice to make the game more understandable. I think some things could bring the game to the next level like a better reprensentation of the setting/story through a World Map thr…

Although, at first, I was a bit surprised to find I had to sort of ‘drag and drop’ the units where I wanted them to go (by controlling the main character and ordering the units to follow him), it turned out to be surprisingly addictive. I quite liked the story,
especially the scenes that depict the main character’s 'daily life' with his wife and twin daughters, which made it easier to put myself in the main character's shoes
. The art direction of the 2D cutscenes played a big part in this. To all you achievement hunters out there, I really enjoyed completing this game 100%.
Support for mouse & keyboard had already been added before I wrote my review.
I’ve played this game using both mouse & keyboard and a controller.
