So far Im impressed. Its immersive and its got those silent hill vibes/cry of fear vibes. my only complaint is the need for English voice acting, which I imagine may be implemented later. There is also weird points where i have captions turned on but the character starts mumbling to himself untranslated or captioned leaving me in the dark as to what is being said. The zoom in aspect is ok, but sometimes a bit janky. Nonetheless let me end by saying the devs should keep going on this one, keep it up with the vibes, the ambient music, the atmosphere and the vague sorta horror story that leaves you questioning everything. EDIT- now deep into act 2 in the city aspect and i gotta say this game has only gotten better. its reaching hidden gem levels of amazing with how incredible the open world segment is. Really fun game. Act 1 and 2 all had a great story, and the camera changing perspective sometimes made it even more fun to play. Lost Life: Origins is HIGHLY recommended to anyone looking for a modern, high quality horror game. I also liked that the game didn't rely on loud sounds to scare players. The movement can be a bit confusing at first but once you get used to it, it's great.3 found this helpful
Lost Life, developed by Akio Kami, is an outstanding game that brings to mind the classic horror game Silent Hill, but with a modern twist. The game's graphics are simply astonishing, especially considering that it was created by a one-man studio. Lost Life incorporates a range of elements, including horror, survival, exploration, stealth, fighting, and third- and first-person views, all set in a mysterious world that has an outwardly dimension. After being in development for six years, Akio's hard work has paid off, resulting in a game that is sure to make a mark on the gaming industry. I highly recommend this game, which is available on Itch.io and now on Steam. I played it on the Steam Deck, and it runs exceptionally well. If you're a fan of horror games or just looking for something new and exciting, Lost Life is definitely worth checking out. The game might say free here, although that was an error. Wandered in the city for 30 minutes, was not too sure what to do found a gun near the water and got lost. Kinda gave up lol. Game ran at like 40 fps on my pretty good rig, CPU went to 95 degrees :O lol need some optimization. But i think you nailed the Silent Hill vibe and will revisit the game when it's complete because I see the vision I,m sure its gonna be pretty good outside of Alpha. Good luck.2 found this helpful
Amazing for a free game and a solo dev ! If you like Silent Hill, this is THE game you should play. Of course, the game needs some polish here and there but the overall experience is incredible if you like weird and strange ambiance, between fear and uneasiness, this is for you. I will definitely be there to see what happens next !1 found this helpful
