Perished Truth

When I saw that this game took inspiration from Saw and Resident Evil, I genuinely expected it to be something I’d enjoy, especially as someone who played the PS3 Saw titles and every Resident Evil game. The initial impression was promising: actual voice acting, a solid atmosphere, and a visually appealing environment. The first puzzle even captured that sense of urgency you get in the Saw games, so I assumed it was setting the stage for more of the same. Unfortunately, that’s where the problems started. The camera and controls were the first major issue. In over‑the‑shoulder mode, there’s no free camera movement at all; it’s locked to either shoulder like the original RE4, which feels outdated. Switching to fixed camera angles didn’t help either. In every other fixed‑camera horror game I’ve played, moving forward stays consistent even when the angle changes, but here, the moment the camera flips, your character suddenly walks in the opposite direction. It was so frustrating that I gave up and stuck with the over‑the‑shoulder view. And to make things even stranger, aiming suddenly shifts to first‑person. I remember Alone in the Dark (2008) doing this, and I disliked it then too.…

Perished Truth was an awesome experience from start to finish. If your a fan of the Saw movies or classic Resident Evil games , you'll definitely love this. The game has that same tense, creepy atmosphere where your constantly on edge, solving puzzle's, and trying to survive 10/10.

DeVoid Studio knocked it out of the park with Perished Truth for a small team!!! That was a great 8 hour campaign absolutely in the vein of Saw meets Resident Evil. I only encountered some optimization issues near the end for the final boss and a bug with the scales of justice puzzle. Beyond that it is pretty solid. The only big problem with the game is that this is Act 1. More acts will be included for free at a later time but as we all know there are many titles that become abandoned. It's a risk. The price isn't the problem for me. It's the 8+ hours I put in "in hopes" to see the final act play out at a later time. I really hope DeVoid follows through. They did a really good job with what they have so far.

Well, having finished the first act and being told that the second is "coming soon" I can say that I have this under my belt. The game is very buggy but you'd probably guessed that going in given that its only £8.50; the game has some issues like how most zombies are slow enough a zamboni could reasonably out speed them. Ammo is in abundance too, I had enough to clear the map a good few times over and after that it was "run from one end to the other a few times to figure out what to do" simulator. Of the areas in the game, There were a couple of side puzzles I never quite figured out too. Clearly we're running in for some Resident Evil style gameplay, the new area/room transition makes it perfectly clear exactly what we're in for from the start. However there is nothing wrong with that, shooting in this game is also pretty good, I thought that swapping from third to first a lot was gonna be a pain but its actually pretty intuitive and gives you a reason to try it since the fixed camera and tank controls are, in my opinion, the better way to play. the game no that bad for the price, but its needs some works like switch gun animation + healing animation + the zombies sometimes they charge at u "its good" but all time they walk like they under the water + the zombies not even try to bite u that is weird to me , anyway i hope take a note and fix sometimes in the future

This game is made with love and passion, but sometimes this is just not enough. The Perished Truth tries to achieve something very cool inspired by Resident Evil and Saw... But falls flat because of the the atrocious gameplay and the lack of... well... kinda everything. I understand why people love it, it's just a lot too... old school and unpolished to be scary for me.
