Love And Order is a romance-focused visual novel and dating simulation that tries to give its relationships more structure by surrounding them with the pressures of an ordinary working life. Love And Order is a dating sim with a pretty unusual setting for the genre because most of it takes place in a small Crown Attorney office in Montreal. I play as Dana Larose, a young woman starting her job as a secretary in an office that is already overworked and understaffed. Alongside dealing with everyone's work, I am also trying to figure out a mystery involving the office while building relationships with four different characters. I like the idea because the workplace setting gives the game something different from the usual school or fantasy setting. The work system is simple, but I think it fits the story fairly well. I have to decide who I help with during the day, whether I should take on extra work for more money and how much stress I am willing to deal with. That gives me a basic time management system where I have to balance my job with the romance and investigation. I like that the stress can actually become a problem if I keep pushing myself too hard. It makes the overtime decisions feel more meaningful than simply choosing an option because I want more money. The mystery is probably the part I find most interesting. It is (imo) a classic dating sim centered around being a legal firm's secretary and part-time sleuth. I would say it is a good entry level game to the genre of dating sims/otome games. Very much slow burn vibes.
