About Masks Of Deception
Masks of Deception is a 6 player horror game where you must use teamwork, equipment, and sensing abilities to identify then exorcize the demon in your group... or the demon will slay you first. You’ve been sent to disrupt and purge a demon before it claims three lives and fulfills its ritual. Purgers (innocents) must be cautious in performing their task as the demon isn’t the only one looking to slay them. Others silently patrol searching for victims outside ultraviolet protection, and some will attack only if you prompt them to.
As a Purger you’ll be traveling around the entire area looking for paranormal zones to investigate, making progress towards uncovering the Demon’s type. These zones appear and disappear in different locations as time goes on. While searching it can be easy to lose sight of teammates, offering the Demon an opportunity to perform a suspicious action. Trust must be earned and even then isn’t a guarantee. Keep everyone at an arm's reach until you can confirm they are who they claim to be.
For every three demon books the Demon collects and deposits on a summoning circle they’ll be able to kill one Purger. As your party dwindles the Demon’s identity will likely be exposed if you haven’t learned who it was already. Time is of the essence to figure out the Demon’s type, with both uncovered you can vote and cast the incantation to exorcize the Demon. Performed correctly the Demon will be purged from this world and the Purgers will win. However if the vote is cast incorrectly the Purgers will lose and the Demon will be freed. One chance is all you get, make it count.
Falling victim to one of the threats or the Demon isn’t the end. After death you respawn as a Ghost with separate tasks of destroying Demon Books and collecting Sacred Pages scattered around the area. If you manage to collect all 10 Sacred Pages and turn them in you and the Purgers will exorcize the Demon.

Masks of Deception came up in my recommended games one day (because I also own 2 other Reflect Studios games, Welcome to the Game 1 and 2). I thought, eh, why not since it's free. So I checked it out. Game is no longer developed due to early on issues (hence why it's free and still showing early access) and has no plans for being picked back up. Now this doesn't mean it's a bad game. Here's my honest review. The game feels like a mixture of Demonology, Among Us, and Dead by Daylight. You and 5 friends can play by making a lobby together and launching into the game (must do it as a party, matchmaking won't join you together). The one who starts the party is the Host for the game (much like Phasmophobia and Among Us and other games that utilize your system as the host). Once you have your party, and load in, it will allow you all to pick a mask and then go to the item screen to pick your loadout. One person gets the role to select the items and you have 65 points to spend to setup your loadout. You get a lot of items to use, like Spectralizers, EVP recorders, Crucifixes, Flashlights, etc.. to figure out the demon type with. Once you have all this setup done, you then ente…1 found this helpful

The best game I played for about 2 hours then it never worked ever again. Ripped off for like $30. But those 2 hours were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glorious. The whole idea and concept of playing this with a bunch of your idiot friends has, can simply have no cost put against it. FIX THIS GAME SO WE CAN ALL ENJOY IT YA NUMPTIES
YIKES. Unfortunately this game just doesn't work in any area it is trying in. Doesn't really look all that great, has glitches, is confusing, not engaging gameplay etc. the list goes on it was not fun and honestly I legit would've rather just kept doing my WORK instead of playing this game :/ 2/10
