Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom

Masks hide stranger truths Laughter dances through the doom Adventure grins wide

doesnt work

Had to jump through hoops to even get the game to load, then it just outright crashes after a while. It is pretty clear from other reviews that the developers do not care about it. Only reason I have this game is from a Fanatical bundle. I do think it is kind of funny and the style reminds me of classic platform adventure games. But, if you can't even play it as is, what is the point.

Confirmed, it's unplayable. When you start it, there's a cheesy animated sequence, then when the game is about to start you get an error: "You must be online in order to play Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom". Don't like that requirement at all, yet I confirmed I was online by browsing. But the message won't let you into the game, online or not. Fix it or take it off the store please!

Does not launch anymore due to broken DRM

It's a nice adventure game, 'JRPG' style. Definitely not for kids though, some crude humour. It can be challenging at times, a lot of ennemies and their hits to counter or dodge, but on our side the controls are not reactive enough, so sometime you just cannot dodge/counter an attack even if you clearly see it coming - speaking of which, the camera makes it difficult to see incoming hits sometime. Please note: in order to play it in 2025 you need this fix here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3253211760&insideModal=0 Also, I played the first chapter, then upon saving to start the second one, game crashed and save was deleted/corrupted, so there's that. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☐ Beautiful ☑ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Don‘t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☑ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Very good ☑ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad ☐ I'm now deaf ---{ Audience }--- ☐ Kids ☑ Teens ☑ Adults ☐ Grandma ---{ PC Requirements }--- ☐ Check if you can run paint ☑ Potato ☐ Decent ☐ Fast ☐ Rich boi ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ---{ Game Size }--…
