Three hundred years have passed since Cold War rivalries culminated in nuclear war. Humankind has expanded beyond the Earth, colonized the SOL system, colossal space stations hang in orbit, and Mars has claimed independence. Been waiting about a decade now for a finished product and still haven't received anything I was hoping for. No cool destruction no buldings to blow up that dont look like it was made for original xbox, only a few mechs to choose from, no story to speak of and mp never took off. To say I got this for free is a stretch, I did pay for the original which I guess was abandoned by the original dev, so were again at the beginning of another likely long wait. I cant recommend the game, it has poor development history no one seems to have what is needed to get the game out of the ditch. So dont bother to be honest but the devs are pretty chill guys, they dont get personally offended, they likely too busy on whatever is going on to pay attention to a forum that has been dead since practically the beginning. It just sucks that some games like this just dont get the chance it needs to be opened up too the larger community but this is such a niche field now, not that many even play mechwarrior anymore compared to even a decade ago.6 found this helpful
It's a good start game. Waiting for campaing and mission to get out but the bases is good. Skirmish is ok. You can be 8 players at a time. And server is easy to make. I enjoy it. There is 12 chassis of mech to choose from. Make the mech you want with the weapon you want. Just watch overheating.4 found this helpful

Basically nothing much is being done on this game - No to little updates. Do not purchase warning.1 found this helpful
I can recommend the game if its on sale, as what is there is solid as far as gameplay and since there aren't many players, you will likely play bots, and thankfully the bot AI is pretty good actually. It's funny, if you play certain indie games, the expectations are paper thin and people are content with a small enclosed gameplay loop. But when a game resembles Mech Warrior, its understandable people raise their expectations to that level. The fact that a small indie studio has produced comparable combat to mech warrior, made by AAA studios, is pretty amazing. To that, I tip my hat. However it remains that people expect at least a campaign, or decent regularity in the ability to hop into multiplayer matches. This title having neither currently is hurting it. I'd recommend they deep discount sales regularly to bolster the player base and keep focused on one of the two: single player campaign, or improved multiplayer.
