Microwave Yourself

“Why would I? Yet there I was, microwaving myself in a VR game.”...

Microwave Yourself is probably one of the strangest VR games I have played, and that is definitely meant as a compliment. The entire idea is that I stick my head inside a microwave and combine different objects with myself to receive bizarre messages from God. It sounds completely ridiculous when I describe it, but that is exactly what makes the game work. It knows that the whole thing is stupid and just commits to the joke. The main puzzle mechanic is based around experimenting with objects and combinations. I have a small environment to interact with and I need to work out which things belong together inside the microwave. When I find a correct combination, I get a strange visual effect, some music and another message that helps me progress. I enjoyed the trial and error because the game is short enough that experimenting never became a huge chore. The VR interaction is also important here. Being able to physically grab things and put them into the microwave makes the joke much funnier than it would be in a normal first person game. WHO doesn‘t want to microwave themselves?

Uhhhhh...it's fun lol, it's stupid, artstyle is laid back, it's a simple game. Title kinda explains it lol, I wish there was more combos, but you can't complain for a free game, it's a good game to throw your brother on or screw around for an hour or so. I recommend.
