Mondrian - Plastic Reality takes you on a journey through the Canvas, a mind-bending, blockbreaking dimension where your creativity controls everything. When Piet Mondrian awakens in a run-down art museum, he finds he's able to use an artwork smuggled out of the Canvas to travel back through time and find his other lost works. Join him and his friends on their journey through art history, as you spin your paddle around dynamically painted fields of blocks in a unique twist on classic arcade gameplay. Build your Museum, compete for global leaderboard glory, and create your own levels using the Mondrian Maker level editor. The Canvas is waiting.
A New Twist on Arcade Classics
Mondrian features orbital block-breaking gameplay combined with dynamically generated elements to create a wholly unique, modern arcade experience. Bounce your ball into the field to pop all the blocks and collect the gems that come flying out. Grow the Stretch Paddle, heal the Breakerball, or slow the Speed Ball by grabbing gems. Grab three gems in a row to earn bonuses, trigger powerups that randomly spawn in the field, avoid obstacles, play as five different artists in seven game modes, and keep the ball from escaping or it's game over.Dynamic Creations
While all levels are hand-crafted, you'll never play the exact same version of them twice. Every level has up to four variations where block obstacles and modifiers change depending on your chosen difficulty. Two included editors, Mondrian Maker and Mondrian Studio, let you bring out your creative side. Mondrian – Plastic Reality is an indie arcade puzzle game developed and published by Lantana Games that reimagines the classic brick-breaker genre through the lens of modern art. Drawing direct inspiration from the abstract geometric works of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, the game blends artistic design with fast-paced arcade mechanics to create a unique interactive experience. Rather than simply breaking rows of blocks, players navigate vibrant compositions of shapes and colors that resemble living paintings, transforming a familiar arcade concept into something that feels both visually striking and creatively playful. The game’s narrative framework is whimsical and intentionally imaginative. Players follow a version of Piet Mondrian who awakens inside a neglected museum and discovers that a mysterious painting acts as a portal to another dimension known as the Canvas. This dimension contains countless abstract worlds made from shifting shapes, colors, and patterns. I've known the creator of this game for well over 15 years. His number one focus making great games while remaining independent to create and express Free Artistic Integrity as a Designer.. After recently playing a few hours of Mondrian meow, and I've found it to be quite an enjoyable experience so far. Admittedly, I'm still playing it on lower difficulties while i get more of a feel for the nuance and control of the mechanics. However, I can feel that I'm improving as I go and becoming more adapt with my timing and spacial awareness.. The game play is similar to Breakout and Peggle in some ways, however is ultimately it's own unique experience. It plays well with a controller on PC or via the native controls of the Steam Deck as well. I'll certainly be spending a good amount of time playing this next week, while I'm travelling via train cross country.. One of the best aspects of the game is the amazing amount of customization it allows and encourages to spark player creativity for further replayability. Nearly every aspect of the game is open to customization and sharing with other players.. TBH, one of things I actually enjoy most about the game is that it is just a str…2 found this helpful

I had a lot of fun playing this game. It has a very relaxed vibe, helped a lot by the soundtrack. It’s a unique take on the old Arkanoid genre, with slightly different rules that make it feel like its own thing. In between levels you can even decorate the museum, which was a really surprising touch. Also, the art style alone makes it worth checking out. I love the unique style, and especially Piet’s sunglasses! I would recommend this game to anyone that needs a relaxing escape from daily live.1 found this helpful
