About Ninja Chowdown: Glaze of Glory

Ninja Chowdown: Glaze of Glory is the ultimate challenge for fans of martial arts and food. Embark on an action challenge full of surprises. Play as Donatsu, the chubby ninja and use your secret arts to fight along 35 action packed levels, in which to collect donuts and defeat members of evil food clans such as the Travelling Rollnin, Pizza Pierates or Barbaricans.

The Dough-jo Donuttery, a food shop and a ninja dojo at the same time, is climbing to the top of the food chain... the top of the chain of the world's food chains! Like every other one in this world, run by cuisine champions and competing food clans. A strong flavor breeds an equally strong fighting spirit!

The adventure begins when The Traveling Rollnin's leader, Sushi Sam, steals the Know-nut, the Doughnut of Ultimate Knowledge, from the Dough-jo. And no one but Donatsu is skilled and badass enough to get it back!

Ninja Chowdown: Glaze of Glory is a colorful pixel art arcade, easy to learn but difficult to master, even for a shinobi. A 2D runner that will put your ninja abilities to test, with short fast-paced levels designed for replayability in three game modes.

Use your weapons to take your enemies down, evade dangerous traps and face the clan leaders. Upon collecting enough donuts, you will enter your Doughjutsu Mode, a temporary, invincible mode that transforms you into a big projectile.

Unlock new crazy costumes, choose your favorite ninja pets -from shinobi cats to alien ships- and wield lethal and delicious weapons, ranging from shuriken to bananas, to customize your adventure.

A pretty fun yet simple, arcade like runner. With great sprite work along with its fluid animations, sweet music and real solid game play. Though keep in mind it is rather short, not a lot in terms of replayability and the challenge factor inst super high. I still think this game is a good time killer, just wish it had a bit more content.

Normally I wouldn't write a review until I've played at least a few hours but for this game, its so dang simple playing it for a bit tells you all you need to know. This game is so dang fun! It's just simple. Arcade. Fun. Throwing ninja stars is more complex than you think. You have to act fast, making choices to aim your shots or just hit a button to hit what's in front. Aim your shots and you might miss, but you can also stay in the air longer. Just shoot and you will always aim straight but you are still moving at higher speeds you might not have time to react to the next thing. All of that while trying to get donuts, and get the highest score on each individual level. Maybe just playing the game how you want and beating levels is your jam. The game still keeps you on your toes and is fun to play casually. More so when you have less to worry about aside from getting to the end. You collect coins casually as you play and this unlocks cosmetics as you go. I really like the skateboarder version of donatsu the ninja. It makes him look super cool, and matched with a magic fist attack its even cooler. Donatsu is rad. The game is already full of unique enemies with unique challenge…

If you like doughnuts and ninjas then this is for you! The art style was great and it was fun playing as Donatsu. The game is short but sweet. I just started my second playthrough to get gold stars on the levels. This takes a little skill since you have to get doughnuts, kill everything and use accuracy when you throw something. If you go ham you wont get the gold. There is also a mode where you play the whole game straight without stopping. You can get the most coins from this mode to buy your customizations. All in all its a blast.
