About OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars
From the pen of former Nintendo art director turned manga artist, Takaya Imamura, and developers of the Retro Mystery Club series, Happymeal, comes a 16-bit styled retro-future, adventure, infused with RPG elements: OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars.
A Turbulent Quest for the Ultimate Treasure
Follow the adventures of Thunder and Kyla on their spaceship, Omega 6: two androids entrusted with discovering a new planet for the human race to inhabit. But before they find mankind's new home, they must locate the ultimate treasure in some ancient ruins to pay off... a planetary loan?! Their quest will take them to three different planets, the first planet is Impostar, a planet filled with aliens from all four corners of space. The second planet is Igni, a fiery planet with a harsh environment. The third planet is Froslara, a planet as frozen as its residents are rich. And on every planet, new encounters and incidents await!
Over 100 aliens! An adventure combo-meal of mystery & drama!
During your treasure hunt, unexpected encounters await at every turn via random events. You can explore freely while working as a bounty hunter, delivery person, or just shopping for items: how to play is up to you. For the completionists, there's a gallery to record all the intergalactic rogues you meet, sub-missions, and training where you can battle powerful opponents! Contrary to its name, space is very full!
Battle rival treasure hunters and a plethora of aliens in card-based battles!
Treasure attracts trouble, leading to card-based battles with anyone from rival treasure hunters to unknown aliens lurking about. With a set number of cards in your hand, read through your opponent’s strategy and forge a path to absolute victory! Inside your spaceship is a bonsai that bears fruits. Use them to boost your abilities or switch your opponent’s hand with yours. This bonsai also bears Magic Fruits, which will hold tremendous powers, but use them at your own risk!
Story
Earth, somewhere in the distant future.
Thanks to a technology that extends the average lifespan up to about 400 years, humanity lives comfortably, despite the societal problems associated with an aging populace.
Then, one day, a wormhole appeared suddenly near Mars. Via this phenomenon, Earth saw an influx of aliens and, before anybody realized, all the planet’s major cities were occupied by these migratory extra-terrestrials.
Concerned with this situation, Dr Victor Franklin, a leading researcher on longevity, decides to search for a second Earth. In order to that humanity may thrive once again thrive once their new home was found, he creates two androids, Thunder and Kyla, and sends them in on their quest aboard the Omega 6 spacecraft.
And thus began Thunder and Kyla's long and extraordinary adventures.

✦ AI summary
Players praise Omega 6 as a faithful and charming tribute to classic 16-bit adventure games, highlighting its vibrant pixel art, engaging story, funny dialogue, and creative puzzle-solving that keeps them invested. However, the consensus complaint is that the rock-paper-scissors combat system feels overly luck-based and frustrating, with some game design decisions creating annoying friction that can test players' patience during their journey.
The closest thing to a brand new Super Nintendo game from Nintendo. Check it out it rules2 found this helpful
The old, best type of adventure game gameplay. 70s anime feel. Has pretty funny dialogues. The battles feel too luck based and is frustrating to go through.1 found this helpful
OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars presents itself as a vibrant and affectionate tribute to a bygone era of gaming, drawing deeply from the aesthetics and sensibilities of classic 16-bit adventure titles. From its opening moments, the game throws players into a colorful, comic-book-styled universe where android adventurers Thunder and Kyla set off on a mission driven by equal parts necessity and wanderlust. Humanity, having outgrown its space on Earth and strained by the realities of interstellar coexistence, is pushed to the brink of finding a new home. The pair’s journey into the region known as the Triangle Stars is fueled by the promise of an ultimate treasure hidden within ancient ruins—something valuable enough to help secure a new future for their species. This premise operates less as a grim sci-fi forecast and more as a lighthearted springboard into a galaxy filled with oddball personalities, exotic planets, and unpredictable detours. The presentation is one of the game’s strongest features. Everything—from the pixel environments to the playful character art—leans into nostalgia with conviction. The world feels like a long-lost title from the Super Nintendo era, revived with a mo…1 found this helpful
A roughly 8 hour, fairly linear RPG. The characters were fun, though not super fleshed out or anything. The setting was interesting and some of the NPCs you meet are as well. There's no one thing that I can point to that says "you'll have a good time with this", but everything together turned this into a game I enjoyed, and didn't drastically overstay it's welcome. The big kicker is that the combat is all Rock - Paper - Scissors. That would kill a game for me, but there are some additions that allow it to be fun. You get a hand of cards, and each of your two playable characters is better at Rock or Scissors. So you might have a hand of 3 rock, 2 scissors, 2 paper. The enemy also has a hand of cards. So it's not fully chance, you can use items to see what they have, and play the odds in your favor. You can also get healing items and that helps. Still, this was the thing that I could see making people dislike the game. Overall, its a soft recommendation. If you have the time, and want an old school NES linear RPG with a fun twist and an interesting setting, pick it up and have a go.
Neat game
You REALLY need to be in the right frame of mind to make it all the way through Omega 6. It can be really trying at times, because the rock paper scissors combat is, well, it's exactly how you expect RPS combat to happen sometimes, which can be frustrating! And also the game finds opportune ways to turn you away in annoying moments, like the temporary pass situation for example. But there are a lot of things about Omega 6 that make it worth trying, from its sincere presentation, to its authentic 16-bit sound and feel, and some truly bizarre but interesting mechanics like the bonzai tree. It does feel like an SNES game that got lost in time, but the kind of SNES game that made people slam their heads into walls until GameFAQs came into existence.
