"Operation REMODE" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Accademia Italiana Videogiochi in Italy (obviously). While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a rather weak and uninspired third person top down console-like shooter game (and released it on Steam instead of consoles, seeking failure on purpose I guess). It's a basic twin-stick shooter, unambitious, and only notable for the lack of polish and a boring "weapon modding" feature that adds little to the lame experience. In terms…

Operation REMODE is a single-player twin-stick shooter developed by Ragoo Rumble and published by AIV - Accademia Italiana Videogiochi. Created as an academic project by a relatively small development team, the game focuses on delivering a concentrated arcade-style experience rather than attempting to compete with enormous action games in terms of content. Its combination of rapid movement, top-down shooting, weapon modification, and futuristic environments gives it a straightforward identity. The result is an accessible science-fiction shooter that emphasizes mechanical experimentation and quick reactions while maintaining a scale appropriate for its origins. The story introduces players to WI Corp, a powerful organization employing a private military force equipped with experimental technology. Players assume the role of a newly appointed Moddie Operator who has successfully completed the theoretical requirements for joining the organization but still needs to demonstrate practical combat ability. What initially appears to be another evaluation quickly becomes a genuine crisis when the Katari Clan threatens the corporation. This cyber gang is determined to acquire WI Corp's valu…

Un buonissimo esempio di come un gioco accademico possa essere sviluppato con costanza e passione! Grandi <3 (Thunderbolt ultra goloso)

First days on the job are always rough, especially in a cyberpunk setting. You're the newly minted Moddie Operator for WI Corp, a seedy PMC of some kind, and almost immediately the facility is attacked by a highly motivated group of domestic terrorists called the Katari Clan looking to pilfer the corporation's secret technologies...both the Clan and yourself get a bit more than you bargained for. The game is a top-down twin-stick shooter, and the ModOp comes with a dash to evade enemy fire and a health bar that automatically refills to 50 percent over time. Your gun is called the M.O.D.D.I.E, and being able to modify the gun is going to be your key to victory in dealing with the mobs of enemies to take down, including the final boss. One of the more fun wrinkles in the gameplay loop is kiting enemies onto holographic bridges and then immediately shutting them off, but this also has you standing still for just long enough to take enemy fire. It's a short game, given its an academic project, but I found it delightful!

I really like this game, which makes me sad because I got stuck on finding the third button for the rare mod in the beginning before the first boss. This game would be much better with a map that has marked objectives, or some way to find your next objective. I think I was soft locked but I swear I explored every area I had access too. some doors had enemies behind them, but I couldn't open the door and there was no button. Other than that, this game delivers on everything I want in a casual controller game. The vibes are good, the art is fun, and switching between mods on the fly is fun. I hope that later in the game there is some sort of cannon or rocket launcher mod
