Paperback is a game requiring both strategy and vocabulary

Great simple word game

The game became boring very quickly. You get cards and try to build a word with them in just one turn. Then your turn ends and you get a new hand of cards. Sometimes you get money to buy new letters, but what's the point when you only have one turn to use them? You aren't building on existing words and despite the title of the game, you aren't building a paperback. I don't know, maybe I don't get it. It's not fun.

scrabble with cards! its a lot deeper than that, but thats a very basic summation. there is a physical edition of this, and this version doesnt add too much QoL over it, but unlike Risk, you probably didnt know this was a physical board game until now, did you? unfortunately, this version is plagued with really strange design choices and bugs. play the physical version if you can (tabletop sim shill) but if you dont want to pony up the cash, this isnt the worst replacement.

The interface is a bit clunky and it does seem to go on a bit longer than it should but that could just be me. My longest work ever was 'charter' for 16 points. I think that sums me up really.
