About Word x Word
Part crossword, part battleship, part game show. Word x Word pits two contestants against one another in a battle of word-hunting wits! Whoever earns the most points across three rounds wins the game.

Search your board for blank letter tiles, vowels, points, and other goodies. When you think you've revealed enough blank tiles to form a few words, start spinning to pick letters, and rack up points!

Both players are racing to find the word (or short phrase) that's the common link between all the words on their boards. Your boards contain the same words, so don't forget to watch your opponent for even more clues!

The first player to guess the word wins the round!

Word x Word contains hundreds of puzzles, with variations to keep you thinking for thousands of games!
With a mixture of popular word game formats, this proves to be an entertaining game for anyone looking for a different take on the word game genre.
Word x Word is a mishmash of Battleships, Hangman, and Wheel of Fortune, where guessing the connection between words and phrases earns you victory.

🤔Overall Impressions🤔

Word x Word is an enjoyable game if you like crosswords or any type of word game. It’s very original in its concept with a few random events to create jeopardy, and some skill in working out the keyword from various letters on the board. Sometimes, the clues can be confusing as they are a mixture of phrases and words, and it takes a bit of practice to get your head around the mechanisms, but once you understand that, it becomes less frustrating. the game locked up my pc so hard it had to be completely shut down, nothing else worked. I contacted the dev around release, but instead of working with what they had, seemingly a single person aware of and interested in their game and providing feedback, they said nobody's buying it, so they're not gonna look into it. that's the spirit. the inaccurate win7 minimum requirement is still on the store page, they didn't even bother to change that in 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years. an attitude like this doesn't deserve support or success. as for why nobody was buying it, it's pretty simple. visibility on steam is getting worse and worse with a ton of games coming out every day, and this is a niche and overpriced ($15) word game from an unknown dev with zero marketing and not even a nominal launch discount. and somehow no billion players on day 1, go figure. it's a tedious wheel of fortune and minesweeper mix, either human vs. human or against the cpu. no single player, campaign or anything, yet steam's remote play is the only online option. again, lazy. obviously no mid-game save, can only abandon the current one, worse functionality than pen & paper. absolute dealbreaker even if gameplay was…4 found this helpful
Really fun mix between crossword puzzle, wheel of fortune, minesweeper, scrabble. CPU is beatable, especially once you start getting a feel for how the puzzles work!3 found this helpful
Pretty easy rules to learn, it's a mix between wheel of fortune, crosswords, and mine sweeper. The CPU can be challenging, but not unbeatable. Overall, it's a good game.2 found this helpful
I tried playing this against the CPU, and the computer finds all of the words a lot faster than I can, and I can't keep up. This game is probably a lot better playing against another person.1 found this helpful
