If you're looking for another Piczle Cross Adventure, this is not it. It has some of the elements of that later game, but they hadn't quite nailed down what made it work yet. The presentation isn't quite as good, and it doesn't have anywhere near the level of QoL features either. Aside from that, I just don't like this type of puzzle as much. I don't find it particularly challenging, just tedious, especially incredibly tedious on the 128x128 puzzles, which are a crime and should never have been included in my opinion. Also it has some wonkiness with the UI and controls, especially with a controller. The music is relentlessly catchy though, even the original "bad" music you have to manually switch to.

I found this dev from their nonogram games and wanted to give this sort of puzzle a try. Safe to say I'm now hooked.

Interesting puzzles and a lot of them. As you complete more and more of the puzzles, you may find yourself drawing the patterns instinctively.

Piczle Lines DX+α is a dense, meticulously constructed logic-puzzle experience that takes a single elegant idea and expands it into an enormous, highly polished collection designed for long-term play. Developed and published by Score Studios LLC, the game represents the most complete incarnation of the Piczle Lines concept, bundling a massive puzzle library with narrative framing, thematic variety, achievements, and quality-of-life features that elevate it well beyond a simple puzzle app. It is a title clearly built with puzzle enthusiasts in mind, offering both immediate accessibility and a depth that can occupy players for dozens, if not hundreds, of hours. At its foundation, Piczle Lines DX+α revolves around a straightforward but surprisingly demanding rule set. Each puzzle presents a grid populated by pairs of colored numbers, and the player must draw continuous lines connecting matching numbers with paths whose length exactly equals the number shown. These lines cannot overlap or branch, meaning every decision constrains the remaining possibilities. As lines are correctly placed, an image gradually emerges, transforming abstract logic into a tangible visual reward. This revea…

There is trouble with the interface. The mouse and keyboard can lose the pointer in game and moving and zooming can break or just not work. Normally, I hit the windows button, or tab out of the game, and go back in to restore the pointer. After playing I have had to reboot because keyboard typing stopped working, but not every time. The feel is this is a controller focused game, with mouse and keyboard as an after thought. The story does feel about right and is only a small part of the overall game puzzles. Over 250 puzzles in, the music does get bland, but isn't bad. This game wasn't purchased for it's music, it was for the puzzles. Sliding and snaking those colored bars to connecting numbers to form a picture is extremely satisfying. When the space has too many options, the game does try to use slight differences in the colors to reduce the paths to a reasonable amount of answers. Too bad for me with all the additional color lenses and blue-light blocking settings I use. The color difference can be so slight as make it more frustrating for certain color related vision conditions. I go back to those puzzles when I have more patience. In puzzle mode there as more than enoug…

This is the game that got me into the Piczle franchise for a reason. A goofy and engaging story that rewards puzzle completion is just the tip of an iceberg that keeps players wanting to dig deeper. This game also has a truly dazzling array of post-story puzzle content that will keep players busy for a long time to come. Completing puzzles is intuitive and fun, whether using a controller or your mouse. I know some players bemoaned issues related to the control scheme; I have yet to experience any in this version of the game. One of my favorite aspects of Score Studios' releases is the attention to fun details throughout, and this game is no exception. From the design of the achievement room to the simplistic yet artful way the story unfolds to the look of the puzzles themselves, this game serves as an early indicator of the care and dedication puzzle lovers would and have come to know Score Studios for.
