About Potion Problems

Potion Problems

A chaotic social deduction party game for 4–10 players set in a whimsical world of magic and mischief.Welcome to Pigeonpoint’s College for Potion Making, where not everything is as it seems. In Potion Problems, players are secretly divided into two teams—Apprentices and Troublemakers—and must either follow the rules or stir up magical mayhem.

Who will brew, and who will betray?

 • Apprentices craft unique potions and work toward meeting their potion quota.
 • Troublemakers use the forbidden Frog Potion to transform apprentices into frogs and derail their progress.
When a frog is found, the group votes on who they think is responsible. Accuse wisely—your closest ally might be the one causing all the trouble.

Key Features:

 • Multiplayer Mayhem: Supports 4 to 10 players online or over local connection
 • Secret Roles: Collaborate or deceive depending on your hidden identity
 • Strategic Deduction: Gather clues, build trust, and figure out who’s working against you
 • Whimsical Setting: Explore a colorful, magical campus full of surprises
 • High Replayability: New dynamics every round keep the gameplay fresh

Win Conditions:

 • Apprentices win by completing their potion quota before too many are turned into frogs, or if they vote out all the troublemakers.
 • Troublemakers win if the majority of apprentices are transformed into frogs.
Blend strategy, social deception, and magical chaos in Potion Problems—where every game is a bubbling mix of suspense and fun.

Interesting take on the genre. The potions and magic element are a great idea and I love the art of the characters though the map design need's more work. I think with more polish, this could be up there.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
"Potion Problems" is a student project from USC Games. One of the first things students should be taught in game development is that 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid 1990's with dedicated 3D cards like the Voodoo3 and the ATI Rage. But the students were deliberately mistaught that's it's okay to release obsolete 2D games in the 3D era of gaming... certainly any professional developer seeing a prospective new hire who doesn't even know about 3D gaming probably isn't going to give them a job. Needless to say if an educational institution taught me incorrectly on purpose, I'd ask for my money back. So this is a basic "social deduction" PvP/team game. Basically a ripoff of AmongUs, but instead of an alien imposter slaughtering a crew of astronauts on a spaceship, we've got some troublemakers corrupting potions to turn people into frogs while the "good guys" just try to make the potions they're supposed to. Ok, whatever. Because it's a student project we can give them a bit of …
